We just had dinner at Max's and loved everything! We started with their Caesar salad, then shared a Charisco pizza-which was insane with flavors. Then I had their African Chicken and my wife had the Goat Curry. Sharing bites, we both thought each entree was sublime. Finishing off the meal with stick pudding....a bread pudding cake bathing in a sea... More

Really comfortable place. Very small and passed it by many times before stopping in recently. Had a really delicious goat curry and my wife had the rack of lamb. The curry had a depth that you only find from really great Indian cooks and typically never find it in this country. The lamb was perfectly cooked and sauce really nicely.... More

As Chef Edna assisted in her husband's other restuarant, Max's closed for a couple of months. The good news is that she is back and better than ever! Food is amazing, Chef Edna is working on a few dishes to change up the menu and brunch too. The quality of the food and warmth of the ambience is second to... More

So happy that Chef Edna decided to reopen Max's. I really missed the food and the unique dining experience that Max's provides. My wife and I visited this past Friday. We shared Mac&Cheese w/Bacon, my wife had the battered fish tacos, and I had the Fish&Chips. All were as great as we remembered. We'll certainly be back again and I... More

This restaurants is now closed so the owner can focus on her hot sauce. It was a wonderful place and will be sorely missed in the Issaquah area. Her food was unique and very enjoyable but guess she was ready for a change.

I had a work colleague visiting from out of town who wanted a unique dining experience. I immediately thought of Max's. We were the only ones there midweek at 6:00 although the tiny space filled up later. There were several items from the menu that were not available, which I though was odd. What we did choose was all top... More

Tonight was our first visit to Max's World Cafe. The space is very tiny, with room for only 16 guests plus a table for 4 in the kitchen. I ordered the fish tacos and my husband tried the fish & chips. The cod for both of our meals was very fresh with a tantalizing taste of a blend of herbs... More

This is an experience. My husband went to order takeout and although he didn't order ahead he was treated with a tour of the place and how to do order next time all while she prepared his to-go meal for him. It took a bit longer than expected but she uses all fresh ingredients and creates the meals as you... More

Quaint restaurant on front street. Diverse food options. Unique food options that have a range in outcomes. Some good and others average. Best for informed dinners

Those who have reviewed Max's and complained about the high prices have a point. But you absolutely get what you pay for, and the owner/chef recreates some mighty fine dishes from her native Goa. Our party of four was shoe-horned into the back of the little storefront and waited on by the owner's sister, a most charming woman who used... More
