Came into Winchester VA for a work training seminar. Always try to eat somewhere local. Googled Cork Street Tavern. Looked at menu and decided to try it out. The feel of a cozy tavern is really around the bar so I decided to sit there and ordered the Shepard pie to go. While I sat there, I saw great dish... More

We had pretzel bits that were the best we had on our trip the honey mustard was fantastic. My daughter a very very picky eater found multiple option on a small kids menu. I ordered a Ruben the waitress suggestion and my wife got the Guinness stew for lunch. The staff was attentive and extremely friendly. We had a great... More

A really varied menu from traditional pub food to entries of both traditional and imaginative types. A wide and varied beer list and a wine list that covered all the bases and was reasonably priced. If you keep to the sandwiches this is very reasonable priced. The catfish and seasonable vegetables were fresh and tasty. The hobo beans were a... More

Mike, Thanks for taking the time to let us know about your recent visit! We try to update the menu twice a year so the next time you are in we hope to have some more new items for you to check out. This is a long-established place in downtown Winchester. Kudos to bartendress Jennifer. Probably caters to lots of regulars, yet new customers can be at ease there as well. Nice place to relax with a beer and catch both hockey and the Series.

Went for a friend's 50th birthday party. Good beer, I had the red ale which was delicious. The spicy pork rinds were so fresh I would swear the pigs were nearby! Loved the loaded fries and of course, the French Dip Sandwich was how I remembered it being many years ago when I last visited. Way to rebound from the... More

Doug, Thanks for taking the time to let us know about the recent birthday party you attended! The Old Tavern Red is a great choice that people have been enjoying over the years. We're also glad to hear you liked the pork rinds as they are a recent addition. While the fire was definitely a strain on us we are... More

I have been going to the Cork Street Tavern since it opened and there was only the East side entrance. It has expanded and now has the West side entrance and an outdoor seating area. The food is really good American cuisine; I have never had a bad meal there!

Local tavern that is about 10 minutes off I-81 so most diners are locals. Not fancy but above average food quality. Relaxing atmosphere after driving for 8 hours. Good beer selections.

There is a lot of history within the walls of this building and surrounding area. Too bad it wasn't proudly displayed on the walls. The interior could have used some eye ambience. There is a fireplace for seasonal use. You can also dine outside. We all thought the food was scrumptious. The place is clean with Pleasant employees.

Thanks so much for taking the time to let us know about your recent visit! We unfortunately had a fire on the old side of the restaurant (it is under renovation) and we had to clean and repaint the entire west side as well. We haven't quite yet got some of our décor back up but we will soon! We... More

We ate there on a Sunday evening, and enjoyed the quiet courtyard. The food is very good, the ambience could improve. Worth the visit!
