Williamsburg is a tourist mecca - no doubt about it. It also has more than its share of fast food, pizza, and pancake restaurants. So it was a delight to dine at Fat Canary during a recent trip to visit a friend. One tip: If...More

Elegantly prepared foods, amusing patter by the server, who knew her menu well. It was lovely without being stuffy. The menu was diverse and the wine list was excellent. I had the short ribs, and they were thoroughly delicious. We all shared a bit of...More

A friend recommended The Fat Canary and we were not disappointed. The house-made mozzerella appetizer is amazing. I has the special striped bass, my spouse had the pork, and our son had a steak. We were all thrilled with our meals! The food is very...More

We've been here before, keep coming back for a special meal. Had Sweet onion soup, Caprese salad (tomatoes, mozzarella, ham, tomato, pesto vinaigrette), Hearts of romaine salad. For main courses, Heritage breed pork chop, Scallops, salmon. Everything was perfect, and the service was impeccable.

We did not go through Open Table for the reservation to celebrate my birthday in February. If it is a special occasion I would call direct. I might do that anyway. The staff was very nice about my birthday - I think they... More

All they do is give you a piece of paper that has your name on it and a frilly paper that says Happy Anniversary. You don't get a free dessert or anything like that. Open Table and Fat Canary should have connected. I'd... More
How does one book a table for Christmas dinner at The Fat Canary. I have tried the Open Table not successful. Any advice. Only arriving on the 24th Dec maybe a little late to book then. Can't call as international.

This high-energy bistro took over as Williamsburg's best restaurant as soon as it opened in 2003. The sophisticated but relaxed dining room has an open kitchen, which uses fresh, local ingredients for its creative American fare. The dining bar and seasonal outdoor patio seating are on a first come basis. Reservations for the dining room are recommended and may be made up to 2 months in advance. Open daily for dinner, a hostess is available during the day to take reservations.
