My family visited Williamsburg over Columbus Day weekend and I chose Fat Canary based on all the positive reviews on TA. When I made a reservation a week before the trip, the only available time slot was 9:30pm which was not ideal and quite a...More

Had a late lunch and sat outside. The food was excellent. I had fish tacos which if aren't done correctly, they can be awful. These fish tacos were just DIVINE!! The homemade coleslaw on top was the finishing touch that made the taco. Well done!

All the great reviews about this place are accurate! We had dinner here and were treated like royalty. My dietary restrictions were accommodated and the chef could not have been more kind.

We have been to the Fat Canary on almost every trip to Williamsburg. The fried oysters are worth the trip from NY alone. We were overwhelmed by our meal earlier this week. The food and service were excellent. Attentive service, outstanding food--this is a great...More

We had a delightful dinner here on the patio. They offer a wide range of prices and foods as well as cocktails, wine and beer. Very helpful waiters.

I am not a vegetarian so I'm not sure, but this restaurant is so very accommodating that if you call ahead (and you will need to make a reservation anyway), I'm sure they will have some delicious options for you.

That's odd, I have been to Fat Canary 3 times and each time our special occasion was recognized.

Description
This high-energy bistro took over as Williamsburg's best restaurant as soon as it opened in 2003. The sophisticated but relaxed dining room has an open kitchen, which uses fresh, local ingredients for its creative American fare. The dining bar and seasonal outdoor patio seating are on a first come basis. Reservations for the dining room are recommended and may be made up to 2 months in advance. Open daily for dinner, a hostess is available during the day to take reservations.
