I ate lunch at Shield's Tavern while visiting Williamsburg in November. I ordered the beef pye. It looked so good when the server brought it to the table. The top crust was golden and flaky. I was so disappointed when I started to eat....there was...More

We enjoyed such a lovely lunch at this tavern. Really felt as if we had stepped back in time. I had the beef stew, which was fantastic.

I am surprised that Shields is still open in January. Our waiter on New Years Eve told us they were closing the next day for two months as a preface to the long list of menu and drink items they were out of. I made...More

It was a very cold day so we went in to have a drink. It was a lovely tavern and we had a hot Toddy of sorts.

We had lunch here a few years ago and the food was very tasty. We have tried to get a reservation at Christiana Campbell’s for some seafood but they were booked solid. The good thing about Shields Tavern is that you have a nice variety...More

We had a great experience at Shield's Tavern in Williamsburg. It did not take long to be seated and our server, Mo, was really kind and helpful. There was a musician who played fun and pleasant music. We ordered cocktails, which were exceptionally good. When...More

Stopped in for lunch — well, we were lucky enough to stop in! Grabbed one of the last spots on the walk up list (no reservations for lunch, anyway). Waited about 10 minutes to get a table at 2:15pm (lunch seating stops at 2:30 so...More

Wonderful atmosphere and really good food. There was something for both the adults and the children. A variety of drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. Really a nice place to eat.

There are so many great restaurants in Williamsburg, but in the colonial area we love Christina Campbell's and Shields. Considering it's Thanksgiving, I would say, getting the reservation is a must, and some places don't... More

In the restored area you don't see many animals unless service animals. Not sure if there is a real ban on them but the best thing to do would be to contact CWB information center and they could definitely tell you.
