Chef/Owner Daniel Abid and his crew do outstanding work, in this beautiful restaraut, situated in the Movie Tavern parking lot. The lot may be a little frustrating to navigate (not Le Yaca's fault), but you are rewarded, mightily once inside. Escargots and the Crab Crepe do not disappoint. Flavors are unbelievable coming from both dishes. The beef tenderloin (au poivre)... More

I was very impressed with this place. Had a wonderful dinner. The onion soup was amazing and my filet of beef was even better. The owner made his way around to all the tables to chat and make sure all was well. I will eat here again the next time I visit Williamsburg again. The prices were very reasonable as... More

We love the Sunday Brunch. The croissants melt in your mouth. The crab crepe has large crab lumps. Very tasty. Desserts are delish!!

Went here for the first time for a birthday dinner. Were given a quiet area table and birthday candle in dessert as requested. Nice ambiance although a bit loud and the roasting meat in the fireplace as you walk in was a turn-off for us (we don't eat meat). Appetizer of scallops: good flavor but luke warm. Soup was delicious.... More

Eating by yourself is always a chore, but I found a pleasant surprise at Le Yaca while attending a conference in Williamsburg. The welcome was warm and I was seated right away. Once seated my waitress, Gayle, arrived to greet me. She was knowledgable, entertaining and made eating alone not so alone. The menu is extensive but not overbearing and... More

I had a lunch meeting today at Le Yaca French Restaurant. The interior of the eatery is lovely. As soon as you walk in you see a beautiful and very large Christmas Tree. I was early so I waited for my friend by the entrance. I must admit the blond receptionist was not terribly friendly while the young woman taking... More

Restaurants in this category and price range have little room for error. They have to deliver the full package including food, wine, service and atmosphere. Unfortunately, Le Yaca is a mixed bag with some good and some not so good aspects. It seems they didn't quite have their game on on a Friday night when most restaurants usually bring their... More

We had an outstanding lunch here. A three course lunch started with a choice of soup or salad. The French Onion soup was excellent. Followed by a perfect petite Filet with au gratin potatoes. There was a choice of desserts, I chose Tiramisu that was outstanding. All for $18

This place is an elegant joy. No shorts and peddle-pushers. It is elegant French dining [never mind that it is located in a shopping mall.] Men, wear at least a sport coat. Food: delicious. Service: excellent. This place would do well in a major metropolitan city and here it is, hidden in little old Williamsburg.

We had traditional escargots in garlic butter but each with a crostini - great addition - authentic French onion soup - more subtle and refined than you would find elsewhere but full of flavor - Steak au Poivre deglazed with cognac, and Homard (lobster tails) with Beurre Blanc. Everything was a perfect combination of flavors and refinement in fulfilling portions.

Description
Le Yaca began in a tiny, country village(Courchevel)in the French Alps in 1964.Daniele Bourderau & Gerard decided that it would be fun to open a small restaurant. When friends learned of their plans they told the hopeful restaurateurs that they were crazy to think that people would drive 8 kilometers on a winding, icy road for dinner.Daniele and Gerard hesitated for 3 months and then decided: “yaca le faire,” a contraction of the French phrase “ il n’y a qu’a le faire” which basically means “let’s do it.” They called the restaurant Le Yaca as a gag. But the name caught on with customers, who were amused by the pun and contributed to the restaurant’s lore by inventing “yaca-isms ” of their own: yaca y aller (let’s go). Daniele came to the United States & opened Le Yaca in Williamsburg.Daniel Abid bought le Yaca in 2001. Daniel worked and trained in such prestigious places as “Le Pre Catelan” and “Lenotre” in Paris; “L’Amandier” and “Roger Verge" and to top it all off “Alain Ducasse.”
