I cannot say how many years I have been a customer of this business. I believe I ordered from the chef before she found a public location to share her talents across a broader spectrum of foods. Suffice it to say, there is NOT one sweet treat that is done poorly here. Cakes, pies and sample road food size to... More

To be fair, owner Glen said some staff did not show so service was slow but food was hot and coffee was great. I recommend poached egg with hollandaise topped by country ham and crabmeat.

Excited to try the New Year's brunch, but was left a little underwhelmed by poor service and temperature of food on buffett. I did really enjoy the crepes, but the food really should've been hotter and perhaps a larger selection for the price. Service is in need of a makeover. No hostess greeted us and when a waitress offered to... More

Most fabulous desserts. Lunch menu is a bit boring but overall food is good. Save room for dessert though. If you skip that you have missed why this place is so popular!

We stopped "by chance" as we saw it on the way to see the Jamestown Settlement and then take a scenic drive on the Colonial Parkway. We decided to see if we could get a coffee and a baked carrot dessert. We ended up getting a lunch special to share as a snack, which was awesome. Everything tastes homemade, was... More

We stopped in here to get a light breakfast to go. The Ham biscuit was amazing and reminded me of my grandmother's biscuits. It melts in your mouth. The Ham reminded me of the country Ham my grandmother would give us when we visited South Carolina from New York. Truly good food without preservatives. We came back after the spa... More

My wife noticed the name of this place as we passed it on the way to somewhere else. On the way back we stopped to check it out. The Carrot Tree is a restaurant and bakery. We stopped for a late lunch, not knowing anything about the place. Now it is on our list of preferred places to eat in... More

First time at their new location. Much larger room so no waiting. At lunch today we really enjoyed our delicious entrees - steak sandwich and a chicken/veg. crepe. Service was very good and quick especially considering the place was pretty full. We've been buying their wonderful carrot cake for many years and we picked up another one today.

The lunch at Carrot Tree was a treat. The sandwiches are inspired and quite tasty. Service is good, prices reasonable, and the decor is very pleasant. Worth a visit.

I was weary of the "bad service" reviews, so I was especially observant of of the customer service, however, I did not find it to be my experience. I ordered two Old Dominion biscuits and a couple of cupcakes to go. All was delicious. I also liked how they have so much pre-packaged to take home to warm up. I... More
