Stopped in for lunch for the first time. I was a bit thrown with how the decor of the restaurant is so open, with tables and chairs randomly placed throughout the space. The lighting is so bright that it gives the feeling that you were eating in a cafeteria. I was surprised that they had an extensive menu. My guest... More

They have recently moved to this shopping center and now have a bakery when you first enter. I had the Brunswick stew which was very good with lima beans, corn, tomato and chicken, menu said cooked with ham but did not see any in my serving. My friend ordered the pimento and ham salad on the starter menu which was... More

Group night out and since they are now open for dinner, decided to give them try. Different then menu lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I had the shrimp and grits. Delicious! Grits were creamy in a Cajun sauce that was not overly spicy. Carrot cake was moist and well worth the calories. Others had the Steak Diane that they enjoyed.... More

We were a party of 12, and most of the group enjoyed their lunch immensely. They raved about the chicken salad, barbeque sandwich, salad plate. I just had dessert, and the carrot cake was wonderful. An array of cakes, pies, and bread pudding are displayed as soon as you walk in, and it was a hard decision to choose. Everything... More

Two of us were curious to see what this new location was like, and arrived at 12:20 on a Wednesday afternoon. Even though we were told that there would be a 15-minute wait, we were not seated until 1:10. After about ten minutes we started talking to two ladies at the next table who had been waiting a long time... More

We've been dining at Carrot Tree restaurants for the past 15 years, and we anxiously awaited the opening of their newest location in Williamsburg. They exceeded our expectations in every respect--menu selection, quality of food, presentation of food, friendly and professional wait staff, and beautiful decor. We highly recommend this excellent new Carrot Tree restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and now,... More

My husband and I had heard so many good stories about this place and had enjoyed it in the previous location, so we had to try it. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. The restaurant itself looks like a sad student hangout, with stark yellow walls and bare floors. There is almost no decoration whatsoever anywhere in sight. The... More

If you're in the national park visiting Jamestown then go to the convenient carrot tree cafe there at the park. Since there isn't much on Jamestown island to eat it saves you a lot of time by eating here in stead of returning to Williamsburg . It's around 7-8.00 a plate but the flavors are good and almost everything is... More

We stopped for lunch. It is a very casual place, nothing fancy, so din't expect a tablecloth or non-plastic dishes. The menu is small: a few appetizers and sandwiches. The quinoa appetizer and the hummus were tasty, but the spanakopita was dry and doughy. We did not try the deserts, which looked better than the main courses...
