Went to Big Sam's after reading other reviews. Average food, average service, a bit pricey for what you get. We had breakfast....eggs and potatoes. Advertised as "half pound of hash browns" but we received a small pile of potato cubes....nothing to write home about and certainly not a half pound. (we were sharing) Most disappointing was the lack of view.... More

Time for a repeat visit-party of 4: calimari for an app, night's special of mahi mahi over "copper pennies"(carrots & totally good), blackened fish tacos, steamed shrimp & the huge, all meat crab cake sandwich. Fresh, well prepared & lots of it. Friendly, attentive server too. Be prepared to wait as this spot is well appreciated by locals @ tourists... More

This place had very high reviews, so I decided to try it. Big mistake. I had the Angry She Crab soup and it was not very "angry" but was incredibly salty. I ordered the "blackened" tacos and the tuna tasted like it came straight out of a can, no blackened seasoning at all. The food was not worth what I... More

Recently my husband & I were in Virginia Beach and discovered this fun hidden gem on the water. I was delighted to see that they have NC Pork BBQ sandwiches on the menu. It sure was delicious and brought back memories of being in NC many years ago. The service was great and we loved the Tiki beach theme throughout... More

Literally a place you don't want to tell others about in case it gets so popular there is no room for yourself in the future! It looks rather 'down at heel' from the road but my lord - the food is delicious, absolutely mouthwatering. The prices are very reasonable especially in a resort area - and you are full when... A bit of a dive in a great location right on the marina. The windows do not afford much of a view. We found the staff to be friendly and were particularly impressed with the she crab soup. We will try it again.

This is a very good place especially when you consider the prices. My wife and I went to Big Sam's on a Friday. We both ordered the crabmeat sandwich, the crab patty was very meaty. The french fries that came with the sandwich were luke warm. When we told our waitress she said no problem and brought us very hot... More

Description
Local favorite that is great for visitors as well. Great breakfast right on the water at the Rudee Inlet. Was recommended to us by some locals and overheard at least 2 other people telling other visitors to go there during our 5 day stay. Great lunch and dinners also that feature daily blackboard specials. All desserts are homemade. Seafood, fresh meats, produce and dairy are delivered fresh everyday.
