A group of 12 of us went for breakfast / lunch after spending the night at The Chesapeake Inn after a wedding. The waitress was friendly & our son went and talked to some of the locals, who were munching out at a table of their own, behind the checkout area. My husband ordered Western Omelet, and was asked if... More

We were driving back home from the beach and wanted to try another spot that was closed. We had a very good experience. The French dip and hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes was good. It needed a little more seasoning but was a perfect option. The service was that southern hospitality. Thank you for serving real brewed sweet tea.

This is basically the only restaurant open on Sunday nights. We had never been so figured we'd give it a try. To be blunt, it simply doesn't measure up to the other restaurants. It's basically a fried seafood place. The service was great, and the food was decent if that is what you like, but unless you are a fan... More

Delicious seafood. Wait staff is very friendly. Worth repeat visits time and time again.. Haven't been for about a year and miss it.

Beer battered onion rings. Opt for salad bar for one side. Shredded coleslaw is not too sweet. Hush puppies are huge and perfectly deep fried.

We ordered the lunch soft shelled crabs, asking waitress how many came with the lunch plate. She replied generally 2 average size and 3 if the crabs were small. Well the crabs were very tiny and we received only two which without the French fries and cole slaw we would have left very, very hungry. The hushpuppies looked a little... More

This is one of the finest small town restaurants that I have visited. The food is delicious, especially that Cream of Crab Soup. Also known for many other fine dishes on the menu.

I've tried every place to eat in this area of Virginia- this place is the best - no over the top fanciness- just plain old good home style cooking - prepared like your grandma! Affordable and if your hungry you won't be when you leave- they'll make sure of that. Restaurants try to be to fancy and forget - people... More

We've eaten here fairly often over the past several months. There aren't many restaurants in town and some have weekend hours only. The Cafe is open nearly every day. Especially enjoy the home cooking with options like yummy meatloaf and tasty fried chicken. Also have good oysters, crabcakes, and delicious crab soup!. Not fancy, but comfortable and more than adequate.... More

We went for breakfast. Very low key and quiet place. Our server was delightful and the food was yummy. It was quite slow, especially for being pretty dead when we were there during the week. But all the food tasted very fresh, so I'm sure that attributed to the time. I would go back. I had a bacon, egg and... More
