This used to be "the" place to have breakfast in town. Unfortunately, it is really getting rundown. The ceiling tiles are old and moldy. The furniture and decor is as well. The food is good but not spectacular. The coffee was weak and lukewarm. It's sad to see it going downhill. The pecan sticky bun was huge, but just a... More

Food is like mom makes. Just plain home cooking at a reasonable price. Closes at 8, so don't be late. All employees very friendly and sociable.

This is the second time we have eaten at Mrs. Rowe's. It's wonderful. It is a local restaurant filled with home cooked food and the best desserts! Tonight, we had crab cakes, fried shrimp, a tossed salad, and some wonderful cucumbers and onions. All was delicious. Of course, the highlight was the chocolate dessert! Will definitely keep this on our... More

There is nothing pretentious about this place. Simple menu with lots of southern favorites, choice of warm and cold sides, lots of pies and a few options for wine. They serve prime rib! Need I say more? Price is very reasonable below most fancy places. Just don't expect fancy surroundings even in the dining room section.

On our way home (Reston, VA) from TN we decided to stop for lunch at Cracker Barrel. The wait was more than 20min so we went to a nearby restaurant instead. So glad we did! Food was very good...I had the liver and onions, my husband had the tomato basil soup and cornbread.....the wait staff was extremely friendly and the... More

Mrs. Rowe seems to be an institution in this area. Her bio-cookbook outlines her sense of dedication to her community, and her cooking. This is comfort food as defined by this area of the country; it is a haven for fats, starch, and sweets, with lard thrown in as needed. If your taste buds need something exceptionally sweet (such as... More

Reasonable price, super friendly server. The chicken and dumplings didn't have much chicken but the "dumplings" were good. This is pennsylvania dutch style where dumplings are noodles. Husband had stuffed chicken and he said the stuffing was delicious. I had baked apples as a side dish and they had a buttery flavor and were seasoned with cloves. This is a... More

We were looking forward to a nice dinner in the cozy dining room we had seen, but ended up in a noisy plain overflow area probably used for bus groups, normally. This was after a 15 minute wait at 7:00 pm. Our food, though delicious, took 30 minutes to arrive at our table. We discovered that the problem was that... More

After the 25 minute wait, it was a full 47 minutes after we got seated, before any food came to our table. We watched other tables get a basket of bread an corn muffins delivered to their tables within minutes of sitting down. We ordered two specials .... chicken pot pie, that contained 4 small chunks of chicken and raw... More
