This is the first review I've written without actually eating the food. Here's why. We were to traveling to Salem (from 50 miles away) to visit a friend in the VA hospital. We allocated plenty of time to get there before the 2:30pm closing time as posted on several websites. About 4 miles before the exit off I-81 traffic was... More

Good morning. My apologies we did not accommodate you. I take responsibility for the inaccurate Closing Time listed on Yelp and Tripadvisor. We changed to a 2:00 Lunch Closing Time some time ago but only updated our website and our Facebook page as well as the hours posted on the front door. As far as our lack of hospitality in... More

The food here is amazing. I especially love that you can choose small portions of most dishes in order to try more wonderful tastes. The only issue I have is the small, cramped space (most of the tables are so close together I feel like I am sharing my meal with strangers) and the fact that it is always SO... More

I've been wanting to come try Blue Apron for a while now and my wife and I finally went tonight. We had reservations and we were given a table as soon as we were greeted. It was busy for a Tuesday night with only a couple of empty tables. We were promptly greeted by our server after having sitting for... More

Lovely atmosphere, great staff. Compared to DC prices, it was a bargain. The flood was wonderful, fresh and well prepared. The small portions..you can choose a larger size..we're perfect for us. Wine selection was wonderful and well priced. And we were there in the middle of a snow storm!

Our table wasn't ready at the time of our reservation but there were a few seats in the bar area available, just not at the bar. I had the half size of the Pan-roasted NC Chicken. It was delicious but the chicken was dry. They had the Seared Faroe Island Salmon, which was nice. If I come back, it may... More

My mother-in-law, sister-in-law and I had lunch at the Blue Apron the Saturday after Thanksgiving. They had both been there before, but as I am from Indiana, I had not. The atmosphere was quite charming and cozy with an exposed brick wall and large windows looking out on Salem's quaint Main Street. My mom-in-law had an Autumn salad she really... More

Whenever possible we plan our trips from PA to NC so that we can stop at this tiny but excellent restaurant. The menu is always innovative and delicious. I particularly love that you can order half portions of most everything on the menu. This visit my husband and I both had the lamb shank as our main course---and it may... More

I don't know about you, but Salem Virginia is not my idea of a culinary mecca. This place is, however, really quite good. Nice atmosphere; good service; interesting menu options. It ain't cheap for the area, but it is local and inspired.

The Blue Apron offers a fine dining experience. The food is absolutely delicious, but the portions are a tad small compared to chain restaurants. They serve the amount of food we really should be eating! Bring plenty money.
