Have eaten here quite a few times and usually good. However on this occasion bar staff did not appear to be customer friendly and struggled with taking the food and drink order correctly. Food served was undercooked. As previously stated usually eating here is a good experience. However the bar manager acted promptly. Took on board the issues and offered... More

Went with friends recently and was not too happy that the first 2 dishes we ordered they could not do due to a fryer problem. I paid over 8 pounds for a Rag Pudding which was average to say the least with hard peas and few chips.Never used to be this bad on food side and only got 3 stars... More

Visited on a busy Friday with work colleagues. Staff were polite and helpful. Food arrived relatively fast. I fancied a hearty meal so I opted for roast beef dinner. The meat was beautifully cooked and there was plenty of it. The roasties were lovely. The only downside was that there was little veg for my liking but that's a personal... More

A pleasant historic building adjacent the Coop Museum that serves a wide range of real ale and good food. A well-rounded pub with a nice welcoming atmosphere and broad range of clientele.

An unlikely but pleasant surprise. The pub is so inviting and warm, and the food was lovely. Great choice of traditional beers and very welcoming staff.

A massive thank you to Simon, Paige and all the team at the Baum. We recently organised our staff night out at the Baum and had a great time. Around 40 of us turned up and had the conservatory reserved for us with a lovely buffet organised. Food was delishious, hospitality was great and beers were very well priced. A... More

Went her for tea with my family, was really supprised by how many empty table as I have been here in the past quite often and it was always busy. I was really disappointed, we ordered our food and half of the things on the menu where not available, then when it came it wasn't good at all there where... More

We travelled up to watch Rochdale play Maidstone (I know), and needed food before the match. The Baum had a good choice of beers, which was a good start, but the steak I had was fab. I don't know whether this is a recognised pre-match pub (or wants to be) but for us, it was just right! Maidstone lost!

We visit the baum often not only because of the large selection of real ales and other drinks but they allow well behaved dogs in which is a big bonus for us. The food is very nice with a good selection of your so called pub grub and specials.the starters or something to share three for a reasonable price are... More
