Just wanted to pop to somewhere local for my Husbands birthday and our wedding anniversary. What a super old pub, very cosy with a lovely big open fire and welcoming staff. Food was very good and tasty. There was also a good garden area for warmer days. Dogs were also welcome there. Would definitely visit again.

We popped in here for lunch as we had not been in for some time. It has a good atmosphere from the log fire, stone floors and friendly staff. Many beers on tap to choose from. Good lunch time menu and good value it was too. If you like traditional pubs then this is a must.

If you're looking for your dream of an English pub, you have found it at the Black Horse. A maze of rooms, stone floors, quirky tables and benches, real ales out the barrel, plenty of local cider, tasty home-cooked pub grub at lunchtime, welcoming locals and staff. You'll pop in for a quick one and stay till closing!

A pub with history, a lock up, slab floors, just good beers and ciders served from the barrels, with lunch time snacks and specials. Very popular, but with plenty of outside seating for fine days. Close to the M5, but tucked away from it and passing traffic.A gem that has escaped from pub modernisation.

Very good Ale and deserves its main entry in the good pub guide. Beer well kept pub always popular and has good home cooked food at lunchtimes. Dogs welcome. Goof fires in Winter outdoor tables in summer (and winter for some hardy soles and smokers)

It was like walking back in time. A basic country pub that excels on providing well prepared beers and ciders and by way of cuisine pork scratchings and crisps, although at lunchtime some food is on offer. So go for the beer, and you'll love it. Friendly staff and customers, good car park, just be careful driving there, the lane... More

This pub would be hard to find if you're a tourist. It's a old-world pub, as they are supposed to be, and hasn't been wrecked by neo-gastro owners. The food is very good at lunchtime, but it's not the food that makes this place unique. It's the atmosphere, the location, and its genuineness. Long may it continue!
