We went today for breakfast. We were a party of five including a baby in a high chair. Service and food both fabulous. Settling is lovely - a converted church. I am coeliac and the waitress was very attentive to my gluten free needs and there were gluten free options. We booked in advance. Would definitely recommend. Thanks again.

On arrival the ladies that greeted us were all very welcoming. There is a very calm, mellow atmosphere and everyone was meticulously professional. Steph looked after us throughout our meal and really made our time at the restaurant, always had a smile and nothing was too much trouble. The standard of the food was phenomenal, we were all delighted with every meal. Both myself and my mum are coeliac and the menu was very clear with what was gluten free which is massively refreshing. More than that, we ordered a dessert that came with a shortbread, we requested it without the biscuit which we were more than happy to have it without - we absolutely could not believe it .... the kitchen made gluten free biscuits for the side of our desserts. We were so touched by the gesture, we eat out a lot and have never experienced a restaurant making something specially, such a treat. The tables throughout the restaurant were very spread out and we felt really comfortable given the current covid climate. The kitchen looks spotless and the bathrooms are meticulously clean. We cannot recommend The Clink highly enough, we will most definitely return in the New Year.

I had arranged an afternoon tea for my daughters birthday and we were not disappointed. We have experienced many afternoon teas and this has to one of my favourites. They had even remembered it was my daughters birthday and produced a complimentary birthday plate for her. The manageress spent time talking to us and made us feel very welcome. There were plenty of delicious elements to the afternoon tea and some surprises too which made a change combining hot and cold food elements. Thank you and we are hoping to return with more ladies this weekend!!

I had been wanting to go here since first reading about it some years ago, but then Covid came a long and stopped my plans. When a child I had lived there when it was a children's home, so was curious now it was a Women's prison to see what it was like now. The website is a little confusing and it was only open at certain times for meals or afternoon tea, so I went ahead, process from there was easy and I got confirmation via e mail
On the day the carpark was fairly full, not sure why as there were only 2 other sets of dinners, inside, the renovations have made it a really pleasant and different place to dine, no thoughts of bare walls or iron bars. The place was pleasant and the table well laid out, the menu was for fine dining, luckily my girlfriend understood better than I, all that was on the menu, I went for the pate as a starter and the sea bass as a main, following with a peach dessert, all exquisitely presented and the taste was out of this world, well done the chefs. The waiting staff were pleasant and helpful, I mentioned my previous contact and they brought out a file with stories and photos, whilst glancing through I spotted a photo of my brother whilst we had been there, I mentioned i had done a blog and had photos, they ahve asked, for me to return and hopefully share more conversation. I am looking forward to my next trip both for the food and conversation, so nice to see this sort of work being done to help rehabilitate the people there but also to provide such pleasant food in a beautiful setting

We could be forgiven for thinking we were at a 5 star restaurant. The food was delicious and very well presented. The ladies Kay and I think Rochelle(Big apologies if I got that name wrong), provided outstanding service. They were knowledgable on the meals they were serving and made you feel very welcome right from the start. We wish you all the very best in your future endeavours. I would recommend The Clink at Wilmslow to anybody.

As first time visitors we didnt know what to expect , we'd been generously gifted voucher for this restaurant.
Good selection within the menu , including additional specials and mocktails .
The restaurant team certainly looked after us ... the kitchen team produced quality plates food ensuring the food was cooked to our liking . Although all the food was nicely presented , I must make special mention to the dessert .... excellent.
What a beautiful and cleverly adapted venue , tables suitably spaced with interesting artwork displayed .
Thank you to all the members of the team for an enjoyable experience...... we'll definitely be back .

We were given gift tokens for The Clink a week before first lockdown, they are still honouring these till the end of this year. Styal is the only Clink open at the moment, and on a Saturday only serve afternoon tea between 12 and 2.
The food I’d excellent, all home made, including the bread. You feel full but not outfaced. Our waitress Christina was attentive, professional but friendly. More tea and fresh plates were provided without asking.
The cakes were made, we think, by Anna, whose skills would be not out of place in a up market eatery.
The building is a converted chapel and provides a lovely ambiance overall a relaxing experience.

I wanted to come here last year to celebrate my 60th birthday but due to restrictions, The Clink was not open at the time so when planning my friend's 60th birthday present this year, The Clink was my first choice.
Neither of us had been for afternoon tea before, although we both had eaten several times in the past. We were brought a huge pot of tea in a China pot, which kept really hot and fresh throughout our time there. We were brought a sausage roll with chorizo running through it, which was delicious. A three tiered cake stand was then brought to us, with a choice of four sandwiches each. I had already asked for no smoked salmon, which they had noted but one of the fillings was Coronation Mackerel. I did try it but neither of us eat this one, yet the rest of the sandwiches were really nice.
The scones were delicious, with plenty of jam and cream to go on top. The chocolate brownie was gooey and moreish and very rich. The little domed chocolate bombe had a custardy filling and then finally there was a little slice of Victoria sandwich cake.
There were two waitresses on duty and both were really attentive and knowledgeable. Jo was our main waitress and was really chatty - she only has a couple of weeks left at Styal and I am sure she will continue to do well once she moves on.
Apart from a lovely venue, and excellent service and food, the bonus of eating here is that we are helping these ladies get a foot on the ladder when they leave Styal. Cant wait to visit again.

We had booked to go here as we received vouchers for Christmas, so decided to book afternoon tea. We received a warm welcome on arrival, even though we were a bit early, and we were shown to our table promptly by Debra. We were offered drinks and our Earl Grey arrived in a lovely tea pot with matching tea set. All looked so pretty and the tables were set perfectly.
Debra explained every item on the stand to us in perfect detail and had a really pleasant and cheerful manner with us. She was attentive to our table, just the right amount so it wasn't too many questions or interrupted our conversations.
The food was all really beautifully presented, tasted great, and was filling. The sausage roll was sooo good (think it had chorizo in it too), and the cherry scones were amazing - the berry jam was just right to go with the scones! Nice to see the chefs at work in the open kitchen. Our afternoon tea was good value for money and felt luxurious without being too rich. We didn't finish everything off so they boxed up our leftovers to take home.
The building itself is beautiful and really adds to the experience with the huge windows, high beams and streaming light. The artwork and words on the walls are really moving.
Parking was easy too and close to the entrance. Toilets are close by and immaculately clean!
We browsed the stand with items for sale on and bought a desserts cook book, pencils and an apron as souvenirs.
This was our first time coming here but we'll certainly come again and recommend to friends.
Every single person involved in this is doing an incredible job - keep up the good work!

A great restaurant in it’s own right. The project and purpose is great, but the food and setting are so lovely that the fact that it’s got that extra upside is a bonus. Proper cooking skill is on display, a great range of ingredients are expertly combined and showcased. The service is excellent too. I’d return here many times if it was an ordinary restaurant, that it’s doing so much good is brilliant.

Our first visit to The Clink and found it very (very) good.
The restaurant is based in a lovely old chapel building with high, vaulted ceiling and stained glass windows contrasting nicely with otherwise modern decor.
We were served efficiently by Kate who was very helpful with enquiries we had regarding the menu.
The food was beautifully prepared and presented with quality ingredients - flavours were outstanding.
The team at The Clink can be rightfully proud of the fact that they are producing and serving food that is equal (or better) than many of the areas top eateries at much more affordable prices.
We would highly recommend.

We hadn’t ever heard of Clink until we were given some vouchers for Christmas so we decided to visit for our wedding anniversary, oh boy I’m glad we did.
In a former Chapel the restaurant is a charity involved in prisoner rehabilitation, it’s well laid out and immediately inviting. We were greeted by the friendly manager and handed to our server Tina who showed us to our table.
There was a good choice on the menu and after starters (the butternut squash soup is awesome) we opted for one chicken and one belly pork main course.
Food of course is very subjective so all I’ll say is in our opinion it was fantastic. Very nicely cooked and very well presented. Tina was very attentive without being intrusive and made us feel as if we were the only people actually there.
After dessert and coffee we were presented with an anniversary treat from the kitchen, that made our day.
The bill was very reasonable too.
An optional service charge is included as tips are not allowed, and because of its location the restaurant is of course alcohol free.
Thanks again to Tina and the team.
Please go.

My hubby and I went for a booked lunch to this wonderful venue. We had only found it online a few days before. What a magnificent building! It was previously a church, and has a very calm ambience from the moment you enter. The staff and volunteers were extremely polite and efficient. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the food, the building, and the charity and how it helps the trainee workforce to gain their NVQs in Hospitality. We were mesmerised and felt very humbled to be there supporting the great opportunities that are given to the individuals who want to improve their futures and change their lives. The food was 1st class! It's definitely a regular dining place for us in the future, and we can't wait to visit again! It's a great venue for individuals, couples, and small and large groups of people, and has a private room for meetings and private dining. Please support this very important charity and the work they do.

Sunday lunch at the Clink today was a truly amazing experience. The restaurant is based in a lovely converted chapel that has unique architecture and stained glass windows. We had the Sunday Roast Beef with all the trimmings, which was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The desserts that followed were delicious. The best meal out in a long time. Thanks to Jen who took time to explain how the charity works. Service from our waitress Cheryl was wonderful. The Clink is a great place to go for a lovely relaxed lunch. We will definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

The other day, I went with my friend and 20 other members of an organisation called 'The Oddfellows'. We had a lovely time while we were there. The food was well presented and very tasty and the girls who looked after us were very friendly and helpful towards those of us who asked questions.
In a couple of weeks time, I am hoping to return to the Clink Restaurant, with my daughter and her husband.
I would recommend the Clink Restaurat at HMP Styal, to anyone who is looking for a lovely restaurant for a lovely tasty meal. I can guarantee, those decide to go, will not be disappointed.
