FOOD: blue crab on brioche with roasted red pepper aioli was delicious; sampled homemade Sassy southern pimento cheese with crostini and that was also delicious. OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS: pulled pork sandwich, turkey club sandwich. SERVICE: welcoming, efficient ordering counter and to-table service. ATMOSPHERE & DECOR: Quiet...and inviting, tasteful art scattered throughout. Easy to shop for local wines, meats, cheeses, nut butters, preserves, soups, beer on tap, wine by the glass, gift baskets. Restrooms were clean but needed servicing. OVERALL: a very pleasant experience at a very charming eatery. Will definitely return on our next trip to Norfolk.More
Good sandwiches, fresh soups, not fast. Deli style sandwhiches of their design but I like to construct my own. Boylans beverages fountain drinks. Busy at lunch with professionals popping in. Not necessarily kid friendly. Clean atmosphere.
This was one of the worst breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. Everything was premade including the fake looking egg. The avacado was
almost all brown and the bacon looked gray. Even the bun it came on was dry and hard. DEFINITELY NOT A DO...OVER. Since I didn't eat much and was stll hungry I walked across the street to D'egg West where I had a great breakfast!!!More
We had lunch with friends at Taste so it was crowded and there was a noise. But i think it's normal for rush hours. We waited too much for the sandwiches. They're fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly.
I’ve been here a few times and I’m always disappointed. The food isn’t bad but it is way overpriced. A $10 turkey sandwich only have one piece of turkey on it. ONE. $18 for a sandwich and a soup and it was not filling. Don’t...waste your time or money here.More
Our large group needed to stop for a quick lunch and Taste happened to be close by. I am not a sandwich fan, but Taste has more than sandwiches. I ordered Brunswick Stew as it was a chilly day and it came with a thick...slice of brown bread. The stew was good. I would have opted for the chicken curry salad, but it was a cold day and I wanted hot food. Service was quick and there were plenty of seats for everyone. So much to look at while one is waiting for ones food. So many tempting little snacks to buy....More
