This restaurant has beautiful architecture, stone and wood work, and chandeliers to create a lovely setting for dining. The food was very tasty, with a nice presentation, but the wait staff was the weak link. Tilapia, lobster, scallops, and shrimp were prepared with vegetables, rice or pasta, and seasonings that were very complementary. The deserts were pleasing to the eye,... More

I stopped to a quick lunch, saw the crab quiche on the menu, and was sold. It was artfully served next to a bed of fresh fruit, and the aroma had me salivating before I'd had a bite. It was every bit as good as it smelled, cooked well but not overcooked, with a slightly crunchy crust. I'll definitely return... More

There is no place like this! I love this place. It's my favorite restaurant. Read about the history of this location before you go. When you get there, you will be amazed. It is so beautiful. Everything is top notch. The staff, the food, the atmosphere...everything is wonderful. Went there for Valentine's Day. Yes, they were busy and you needed... More

This 1870's church has been repurposed over the years and is now a lovely restaurant which we look forward to visiting again. The She-crab soup is the best I've ever eaten. Very flavorful with sweet pieces of crab. Lunch was reasonably priced with generous servings. Half a sandwich and soup or salad for $9. The half Smithfield sandwich was huge... More

This old church turned restaurant was highly recommended from a number of people upon my arrival in Norfolk. It is within walking distance from many of the downtown hotels. The atmosphere was unique however, using a smaller church they built an upstairs seating area that partially took away from the high ceiling experience at many of the tables. Our server... More

Wow! I'm not sure whether to start with the ambiance or food. It's an amazing place, being an old church and now a cozy restaurant. The food itself was amazing. Don't miss the she crap soup, it's truly not to be missed. Not overrated. I had the seafood fantasia and it was rich in taste and full of tasty seafood.... More

We had a great experience at Freemason Abbey! Kaitlin was our server and she did a great job! The wine was really good and our meals were very good! The atmosphere was really neat inside. It just reminded me of a dinner pub in Europe.

Always a long time favorite of mine. I have been visiting Freemason Abbey since the 90's and have always had a wonderful experience. The evening for dinner we enjoyed good tasting food, excellent service and was able to taste some new beers.
