Had lunch at Jal and Jalebi this week. We were not staying at the hotel though.
It was not a particularly busy day and the staff was welcoming. We chose to sit out in the open.
We had the following items:
1.Pizza Americano -5/5 - Excellent
2. Chilli guava (drink) - 4/5 - very nice
3. Hot chocolate - For my son. My son finished the entire thing so I presume it was good.
4. Masala tea - Well it was tea. 5/5
5. Gharwali thali - 3.5/5 Served on a massive 3-4 ft thali, two of us shared this thali. Some items - Rajma, chaach and the stuffed roti were excellent, others were average. Portion size was small considering this thali costs Rs 1500.
The staff was very welcoming and courteous. Contrary to some other reviews, we faced no issues with service.
A nice place to have a meal of you're in the area.

We were here for 4 days. Had breakfast and dinner on most days and lunch on couple of days. The buffet was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Lunch was from the menu. We also ordered from the menu for dinner. They were more than accommodating on what we wanted to eat and how the dishes were to be made (less in oil, spice levels, etc). They also customized the dishes for us. On request they also made some local dishes that were not on the menu.
The staff of Kamal, Ratan and Manager Yogesh were exceptional. We wanted half portions since we ended up wasting food and they were willing to do that too on request. The Thali was out of this world and so were the fresh made jalebi's.
A must go and must eat place. They have sister properties and we did eat in Vileen which was exceptional - it was wellness and Ayurvedic food. Did not get a chance to eat at the holywater which has a very special meal from the temples.

My dad and I came here for breakfast while staying at Ganga Kinare. The food was so amazingly good, with exqcuisite variety. We had the best service of anywhere we had eaten in our lives, all of our servers were very kind, helpful and attentive, especially Komal who was always smilingly offering us delicious delicacies and giving us refills on pourri bread and cappuccino.

We read about their pahadi thal online and had to check it out. We ordered 3 thals for the 4 of us. The food was amazing - especially the gahat dal soup and the rajmah. The mithai was to die for. The service was great and the wait staff was happy to explain what each dish was, how it is prepared and how to eat it. And the experience of eating in the giant thal was fun too!
Highly recommend!!
It was a lot of food though and we would have been okay with 2 thals instead of 3.

We had the breakfast buffet here and it was such a delightful experience to sit by the calm waters of the Ganga, enjoying the sumptuous spread offered. Our steward Rohit Upadhyay was super warm and courteous, making sure we feel very welcome and taken care of. Anil was very mindful of our comfort too. The ajwain water was a great addition to the buffet, helping us digest all the very delicious food we had hogged 😜 All in all, a 10 out of 10 experience and something I'd strongly recommend to everyone when in Rishikesh.

The ambiance of this place is good, but the cuisine is terrible. It has a fairly simple flavor. The quantity in no way justifies the listed prices. At this price, I will never have a simple breakfast item. How can someone charge Rs 420 for a simple paratha that doesn't even have filling? Better paratha can be found at a dhaba. Even after visiting this eatery, you find yourself eating parathas and chole bhature because every dish costs between 700 and 800 rupees and has a subpar taste. For this kind of money, you should at least expect good taste and presentation. I would advise against going to this location.

This restaurant is AMAZING. Food is exquisite with flavor and quality second to none. Komal was an amazing server, checking on us and getting everything we could ever want or need. The entire staff was incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable to all are questions and diet needs. If you are traveling to India, this is a wonderful place to bring your family. Care is given for children food likes and the stunning view of the Ganges River while dining is unparalleled. This has been an amazing experience. This is definitely the best family restaurant in all of Rishikesh and I would say in all of India. We will definitely be back.

The restaurant serves a full buffet with all vegetarian options. The view is beautiful of the ganga river and has an indoor and outside seating area. The restaurant has beautiful live music with local artists for all meal service.
The service is top notch. The waitstaff is very attentive and friendly. Very easy to communicate with the staff in English or Hindi. The servers were very accommodating, offered to make custom food for our family that was not spicy, they bring you food to your table from the buffet area so you don’t have to get up, and make you feel personally welcome.
We’d like to specially recognize Balwant, Suraj Aryan and all the other wonderful staff members, who remembered our preferences each day.

The staff at Jai & Jalabei always make a visit to this restaurant so pleasant. Aman one of the waiters was so kind and friendly. He had such a great smile and made you feel at home even though we were only patrons at the restaurant and not staying at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was a good mix of Indian food and some western/european items. Jai & Jalabei has the most beautiful & serene views of Ganga Ma and nature views that one can enjoy while sitting on the Terrance. It’s just so quiet & peaceful compared to so many other places here in Rishikesh.

Jal & Jalebi is a unique restaurant serving delicious dishes for the breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu keeps changing every day with a great choice to the guests. The restaurant staff is very polite and always have Garwali smile on their faces. Really enjoyed my favourite hobby singing on dinner here. Mr.Saurabh and Mr.Balwant of the F&B are great and very helpful. Will surely drop in during my next visit to Rishikesh. Jai Ganga Maiyaki.

The breakfast buffet offers an extensive selection of delicious food, and the staff are incredibly courteous. Balwant stood out for his exceptional friendliness. When my wife was experiencing throat pain, he kindly sent us a soothing lemon, ginger, and honey tea. We're eager to return for another enjoyable experience.

I called the manager Balwant to organise a birthday celebration for my partner and they arranged for a special corner table with a ganga view, with beautiful flower decorations and a lovely birthday cake.
Kamal and all other staff members here gave us really good service.
We had the dinner buffet, 100% vegetarian and eggless and the food was really really tasty. Both Indian and western food was very delicious and well done! Variety and spread of dishes and deserts is really good.
Beautiful seating and view. All in all amazing place, highly recommended. A bit pricey but I think it’s value for money for what you get in return with the food and service.
Would visit again :)

Pahadi thali at this restaurant is an experience in itself. Excellent food, appetizers, main course and Dessert. Suraj Arya served us wearing pahadi cap , explaining each pahadidish and benefits. Overall 5 stars. Cherry on top is jalebi with rabdi, thats a signature dish and must try.

Pahadi thali from Jal and jalebi has been in my bucket list from a long time now. And this place exceeded my expectations. This restaurant is right next to Ganga, the view was itself a surreal experience. The food was an experience worth the price and service was nothing less than your family serving food.
A must visit restaurant in Rishikesh.

Food was amazing and my server Yogi helped me pick local dishes to try from- which were ‘must try food’, if you want to explore the local food. For solo traveller many a times you are unable to order special cuisines because they are part of bigger meals. The waiter helped me curate my meal and charged accordingly . Do try their Bhang ki chutney and jalebi of course!
