Just returned home after a fabulous meal - perfectly cooked woodcock starter and the hake for main was equally as delicious. This was vintage Plas Bodegroes back to its best and the company wasn't bad either. Do not hesitate to book. Diolch Chris and Gunna.

Thus used to be, I understand, a very good restaurant but the owners have tried to sell it and failed. So they have a chef and front of hose as a husband and wife partnership who seem to be finding their feet and not yet totally settled, or so it seem. The result is a goodish restaurant but not spectacular.... More

Things are not what they were and it is a real shame. We have been here many times over the years and regrettably will not be returning. The service is poor at best and the food is far below it's previous high standard. If you are expecting the exemplary service and yummy food of yore you will be disappointed.

We have enjoyed several lunches at Plas Bodegroes as well as a dinner and overnight for a celebration, however we went recently for Sunday lunch and it was very disappointing. Our starters and desserts were bland, although the bread offered at the start was very good. Both of us had ordered the slow cooked roast pork only to discover that... More

We visited for Sunday lunch and much of the experience was enjoyable: a great setting, friendly and efficient service, good starters, puds, cheese and wine. But the main course was no better than average at best. We both ordered beef, which was very fatty (and the portion size was very small), the accompanying Yorkshire puddings were like cardboard and the... More

We have been to Plas Bodegroes several times but not since Gunner and Chris were running it. I felt that the food was excellent; very tasty but perhaps servings a little on the small side. It is quite quiet so be prepared for an element of formality. What i would say is that £19.50 for a three course Sunday lunch... More

Make no doubt about it my husband and I love Plas Bodegroes restaurant, we've eaten here many times over the years and yes, I've already done a couple of reviews. We were so glad that Chris and Gunna didn't sell and the new Chef is superb, every dish is second to none and I have no complaints ever about the... More

We visited for Sunday Lunch as a group of 4 and were greeted at the door and taken in a comfortable lounge where we could look at the food and wine menu before being seated in the dining area. One of our party was pregnant and has to be careful with what she eats, she asked for the roast beef... More

We have visited this place a few times under the original owners and have always left happy. I was disappointed to hear they were leaving in fear that we were losing something special. I do not post reviews unless I am extremely impacted by the visit one way or another. We have recently visited under the new management. This place... More

Tiny, tasteless and tepid. Staff poorly trained. A significant deterioration in all aspects compared with the years of established excellence. Over reliant on foams and jellies. Miniscule vegetable portions. Only improvement is that the garden is at the best we have ever seen. There needs to be a substantial re-think.
