We stay at The Homestead frequently and often do not leave the property for meals. But LCDO is certainly worth the walk into town. Everything our party ordered was superb. Food was phenomenal. From the fresh breads to the French onion soup to the short ribs and the crème brûlée. Excellent! Espresso martini’s and smoked old fashioned!!!!
There are great restaurants in Virginia. Les Cochons d’Or clearly is among them. Beautiful surroundings. World-class wines. We have a new best place to go now. We will plan our visits to make sure Cochons is open!
Tripadvisor shows this restaurant as very expensive. While prices in all restaurants have increased along with high inflation over the past year+, we found this restaurant to be reasonably priced compared to many. We also found the quality of our meal to be outstanding, as...was the service. So there was excellent value. While not a fancy place, the restaurant was very clean with nice artwork and a very pleasant atmosphere. I would note that we went on a Tuesday, while several other local restaurants, including some at the Omni Resort, were closed on Monday and Tuesday, and some even on Wednesday. Admittedly, had others been open, we probably would not have gone to this restaurant. However, it was a fortunate turn of events for us and we were quite pleased with the outcome.More
We had a delightful and delish dinner. Our waiter Patrick was knowledgeable, pleasant, attentive and ver gracious. The food was spectacular especially the beef deckle and short ribs. Highly recommend!
It started out well...drinks were good, apps tasty...but then the hour wait for our 1st and then black charred inedible eye of rib as our third was so disappointing. This place I chose for my birthday over the ivy house in charlottesville because of all...of the good reviews...don't believe them...it was a waste of $300 and the chef was terrible.More

Patrick was our server. Martini with stuffed olives even though they don't regularly offer them. All entrees were perfect. Onion Soup delightful. Deckle entre great. The short ribs were off the hook. Patrick is a world traverler and a great server.

Food was very tasty. Portions were lacking. My issue is that it took us 25 minutes from being seated to meet our server. We were given water and bread from the host but we still waited around a long time because she wouldnt take any...orders. After we ordered he would only acknowledge us every 15 mins or so. At the end we asked for a fountain drink and waited 15 mins and he seen helping other guests and ignoring us. We had to pull another server to the side to help us. When he came to collect our plates he didn’t apologize or even acknowledge what happened, he was very detached. For this price range, this is seriously unacceptable, even if it is “busy season”. 25 minutes from being seated to meet our server. Wow! We had a party of 8 for an anniversary family dinner. The service was flawless and the food was delicious beyond words. Our server, Chip, was fantastic. We stayed at The Homestead for 4 nights and this was by far our best meal. Would...highly recommend the pork shank and short ribs but everyone loved their dinner. Don’t miss out on this place if you are in the area. (And they are a coffee shop by day)More

This restaurant is a treasure. We return to The Homestead once or twice every year, and part of the reason is to visit LCDO. The food and service is excellent, and the wine is exceptional. We will see you soon.
This cozy little restaurant is a must if your are staying in Hot Springs. We had the French onion soup which ranks as one of the best we've ever had in our life. The bread offering was diverse and wonderful. My wife had mussels and...I had the salmon and both were excellently prepared. Aside from the food, the service provide by Joseph made my evening. After learning where we were from it developed into a conversation about baseball. Joseph, a Reds and Oriole fan, was blown away with the number of baseball HOF I have met as well as had conversations with. All in all a very enjoyable evening.More
