We were given a night at the Inn as a Christmas gift from our daughter. The Inn keeper made the whole experience easy and pleasant...from the initial phone call to our check-in and check out. We didn't want a big dinner which they serve there...More

I always wanted to stay here as an undergraduate at JMU and never got the chance, though I did have lunch here post graduation 20 years ago. While the House is under new ownership, our entire experience was fantastic. We stayed in room number five...More

The house was lovely and the food great. The room was shabby and overpriced. Used to getting more charm for that price at B and Bs

It is my understanding that a transition in ownership is taking place. Knowing who are expected to be the new owners, given their outstanding track record, I expect it will regain its status as an excellent venue.

Description
Located in an elegantly restored Victorian mansion, Joshua Wilton House is within walking distance of historic downtown Harrisonburg and the campus of James Madison University, offering guests quiet charm and gracious living in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The Restaurant offers a unique and exquisite a la carte menu that changes with the seasons, along with an extensive selection of beers and an award-winning wine list. Featured are the food products of many small local farms and producers who supply our kitchen with high quality ingredients that simply cannot be found elsewhere. Chef's Tom French and Brian Bogan work together to create food that highlights Virginia's southern heritage while adding a French influence to the dish. During the warmer months, seating is available on the outdoor brick patio. Arrive early and enjoy a cocktail in our lounge before dinner.
