This restaurant has been in Goochland for some time. Recently I happened to be in Goochland and went to lunch here. The service was quick. I had a steak sub with fries and it was hot and very good. The next table was a construction...crew that ordered pizzas and they looked very good, but one pizza didn't have all the toppings that were ordered but the restaurant made it right. It is not fancy but they serve good food.More

Good food, great service too! There aren't too many spots to eat in Goochland. I'm glad I found this one.

I order a salad from Rocco's about twice a month for pick up at lunch. The grilled chicken salad is huge and delicious. Coworkers get the grilled shrimp salad and love it. I've also had the Philly Chicken sub which was also delicious. My niece...tells me she loves the pasta but honestly, I can't get past the salads and subs.More

I am reading the other reviews of "Rocco's" and I see that my experience is pretty much exactly what all the other reviewers have found: friendly staff, huge portions, tasty cooking and reasonable prices. We were on a road trip from Washington to Raleigh, and...decided to avoid the interstate highways and travel the back roads instead (which worked very well, by the way). A little after noon, we came across Rocco's in Goochland, VA and thought it looked like a reasonable choice for lunch: close to the road, clean, and other cars in the parking lot. (They say you can't judge a book by the cover, but what else can you do when you're on the road, looking for a meal?) As it turns out, it was a great choice. We were seated right away and our waitress was very cordial. "JJ5605" is correct; the menu is basically the same italian selections you have seen in a hundred other restaurants. But the quality is exceptional. My steak sandwich was huge and very delicious; my colleague had an equally good meal and particularly commented on the bread from which the sandwich was made. Our third teammate had a couple slices of pizza and devoured them: all good! I also saw a family at another table wolf down a massive pizza loaded with peppers and meat; it looked so terrific I almost went over and asked for a slice. This restaurant also has a dim and smokey bar which, were we not driving, I would have enjoyed sitting a while and watching the football on TV.More

We always get the veggie pizza for takeout. It comes loaded with fresh cooked just right broccoli, onions, peppers, in season local tomatoes, artichokes, whatever.. I never specify, and am always pleasantly surprised. Crust is just right, yeasty and olive oil crisp on the bottom...(like pizza in the North). Dining in: not much atmosphere but big portions, lasagna is good, service superb with a smile. Good folks!More

The food is your basic Italian selections. The servings are huge and the price amazing. I had the Spaghetti with meat sauce, which included a house salad and garlic bread for $7.50. The waitress was very friendly and food arrived timely. If you are looking...for a casual, Italian dinner, I highly recommend Rocco's.More

The sandwiches at Rocco's are great along with the Pizza's. I love their Steak and Cheese sandwich and their wings are also good. One item that is super is the Chicken Livers. I know that most do not like these; but if you like livers...then you should try these. They don't come with a side; but I order to take home and cook my own sides.More

Rocco's might as well be two restaurants. There is a smoking section and a non smoking section and the two crowds do not mix. I've always sat in the non-smoking section and I could never tell that there was a smoking section on the other...side of the restaurant. They have a limited number of beers and some other alcoholic beverages. The staff is very friendly and the owners are great friendly down the earth guys. The food is hard to rate, The pizzas are outstanding. It's probably the best and the freshest pizza you'll get in the area. It's thin crust and the ingredients are always placed just right. No topping overpowers the other. I've had every single pizza on their menu so I know. The Mediterranean pizza and the white pizza are must haves. Also the cheese steak and the vegetarian pizza are outstanding. The other items on the menu, like the pasta dishes and the burgers, are clearly made from frozen. The tomato sauce on their pastas tastes like someone just dumped it out of the the can and heated it up. Which is not bad per se, but I can do that at home... The raviolis and other stuffed pastas TASTED like they were frozen right before cooking, which again, it's something one should expect for a place like this. The reason why I say that it's like two restaurants is because I've seen a little league party on one end of the restaurant and hard drinking chain-smokers on the other.More
