Waitress must have been having a bad day or something. We did not get the complimentary slaw or pickles like the other tables. She did not like that we didn't order super fast but wanted to look over the menu options. I specifically asked about peppers and onions being mixed together and she said no. When my Grilled Chicken salad... More

I ordered salami and Swiss cheese on Pumpernickel. It was OK. Ordered Matzoh ball soup, which had a different tasting Matzoh ball than I'm used to. Overall, it was good.

what was once a good place for lunch went downhill. We had to ask for the pickles & coleslaw that was once complemimentary - and we didn't get a variety of pickles like in the past. i don't know what they did to the latkes, but today it was a large deep fried dough patty. The rye bread had no... More

This was a horrible excuse for a Jewish Deli! Matzoh ball soup was horrendous...the matzoh ball was huge however, tasted of ginger and cloves. Yuck! The corned beef was good but the bread it was on was no where near rye bread. It was like thick white bread with rye seeds. Bagels were old and hard, and the whitefish salad... More

The food certainly had the look and feel of a NYC Deli. However, this is not a Kosher Deli, so don't be surprised. When you sit down they offer complimentary Cole slaw and two pickles--one Kosher style and one half sour style--provided you order an entree or a sandwich according to the menu. The slaw was good, but rather heavy... More

As a New York refugee in the culinary wasteland of Virginia, there are few real New York options for me. Chutzpah is a refuge with great pickles, coleslaw, chopped chicken liver, matzo soup, great sandwiches and great breakfasts. If you want the only chance for food similar to NYC its here (no the restaurant in Mosaic does not compare).

We stopped in to see whether we could find kreplach soup, a staple of any good NY deli, but hard to find in No. VA. For starters, when my wife pronounced it "krep-lack," the server acted as if he had never heard of it. Several tries later, he finally inquired "do you mean 'krep-lock?" Even the most snotty Parisian will... More

We have eaten here on several occasions, and have always enjoyed our choices. Even if the taste was a bit different than expected, it is an authentic NY Deli after all, the food is always very flavorful. This place comes highly recommended by these two foodies!

Great deli meats on mediator bread. I miss the New York bread. Perhaps it just isn't available in Northern Virginia. Potato Pancakes are available at Chutzpah. May be the best New York deli south of Philadelphia, but it is not the real thing.

First visit, and we were the only customers at the counter. The server asked if our order was for there or to go, and since we were on our way to an appointment my husband said "to go". After we paid, we realized we actually had more time, so we went to sit at a table. The server said loudly... More
