We’re so sorry about the disappointing service and food. We'd like to follow up with you about this. If you could email us at ocguestrelations@ocharleys.com with your phone number and the location you're speaking of, we'd really appreciate it.
O'Charleys in Chester, VA is the poor mans little Michelin 3 Star restaurant. I was surprised how well prepared the food was. The prices were reasonable but do not come here if you think this is Shoney's. No, O'Charleys has a great atmosphere. Sadly, and...like most popular restaurants, they management can't seem to find the time to clean finger smudges off all the walls and railing and the floors need to be thoroughly power washed to remove built in, well you know what I mean. This is not a detraction but is something I've encountered at other local upbeat food restaurants. I think the management could work something out. This untidiness is the only dig I have.More
The service was very good. I had the Carolina Gold chicken sandwich, which was good except for the bun, which was hard and stale. My friend had the house salad, which had a fair amount of wilted lettuce in it. I expected more.More

My daughter & I ate at O'Charley's on Friday night. We were taken right in, and seated at a table, apart from other diners, as some of the tables were closed. We felt safe and enjoyed our meal. Our waitress was Sydney & she was...helpful & friendly. We both ordered sweet tea & club sandwiches which were very good. Maybe the bacon could have been crisper. I pulled the rubbery bacon out of my sandwich. I had sweet potato fries, and my daughter had potato soup, which she enjoyed.More
Thanks for the feedback, Cathy.
Having tried to celebrate Fathers' Day at another nearby restaurant, we instead went to O'Charleys. Even with a large party (7), we were able to be seated promptly although we were placed as close together as times will permit. The service was excellent, the food...great and served in a timely manner and all left feeling grateful for a good meal together as a family with a couple of generations of fathers present. Thank you O'Charley's for providing great service when others used our pandemic as an excuse.More
Thanks, Skyhawkcam! We love hearing that!
There are a few choices in Chester for a mid priced sit down meal. O’Charley’s is typically way down on our list because of the inconsistent and mediocre food and service. My husband bit into his burger and his teeth clamped down on a BOLT!...A thick metal bolt. He spit it out on his plate and we called the manager overs. He said “oh...I’m sorry. It must have come loose from one of the machines in the kitchen”. He took it away without offering even a discount! Same visit I specifically asked for no bacon in my meal because I’m allergic. It came loaded with bacon and I had to wait 25 mins for new food , during which time my husband almost swallowed a metal bolt. Usually the worst thing there is just the sometimes tasteless food, this time it was beyond stupidity. We paid for our inedible meal and that’s the last time we will go there. To top it off, we could hear employees yelling T each other in the kitchen and dropped dishes. Update: March 1, 2020 Against my better judgment our family decided to have brunch at this location even after the above described debacle. It has solidified my decision once and for all to NEVER return. My children both ordered strawberry waffles and I ordered a Savannah scramble with no ham and clearly stated I have a pork allergy , not an aversion so it was important no ham made it on my plate. We waited 35 mins for our food which was ok, they were busy. When our food arrived it was 100% wrong. The server brought out two French toast meals with strawberries, not waffles and the food he brought me was NOT the Savannah scramble. It was some dish loaded with not only ham, but huge chunks of sausage. My son was starving and just ate the French toast . Almost 30 mins later my daughters and my food came out. Hers was fine. Mine was watery and bland and I could not eat it. After all that nonsense, not even a discount was offered. No sincere apology. I will never never never step foot in that place again. People with food allergies BEWARE. I am always very nice and I never get ugly with these people because I truly do not blame the servers. He still got tipped generously, but the management is obviously horrible and uncaring about the guest experience. You can only rely on the chain recognition for so long before people get wise . The restaurant is dirty and the food is a big fat NO.More
I was hugely disappointed in this location after reading the other reviews online I had higher expectations. The drink that I got was really good I ordered a steak with salad and mac & cheese the salad came out with the steak, which was OK...but not what I was expecting. The steak was cooked well the mac & cheese was ice cold I told the bartender and she asked what she could do to make it better I said how about just a second salad I never got the second salad. I then ordered their chocolate silk pie which was still frozen so they told me I had to pick something else. The atmosphere was OK it was a lot of listening to the bartender and waitress his issues that they had with their familiesMore
Great lunch. Salad and beer. Good atmosphere and good waitstaff. The salad was crisp and extremely fresh. Crunchy. Usual cold beer on a hot day.
We were traveling and decided to stay overnight in Chester, Virginia. We asked the desk clerks at the hotel for a restaurant recommendation and they were enthusiastic about O'Charley's. We ordered the Peach Chutney Chicken and the Seafood Combo Platter. The chicken entree had peach...chutney, broccoli, and mashed sweet potato. The chicken breast was a fairly good size. The peach chutney was good and the sweet potato and broccoli were fresh. The seafood combo was very large. It had fried shrimp, imperial stuffed crabs, and cod. The platter is served with coleslaw and french fries. Rose was our server and she was very personable and knew the menu well. The seafood combo platter was reasonably priced and the chicken was very reasonable. The total bill with tax, tip, and beverage was less than $40. O'Charley's is a chain restaurant that has a diverse menu. The food is similar to other chain restaurants with respect to quality and price. This O'Charley's is located near the other restaurants and stores at the intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway, US Routes 1 and 301, and W Hundred Road, Virginia Route 10. The restaurant is north of Route 10 on the west side of Route 301 near several other restaurants.More
We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of the hotel we were staying in. It was good! So good, we went to another OCharleys at our next stop, Jacksonville, FL! Nice homey atmosphere, waitress adequate.
First visited O'Charley's on a trip in Georgia and loved it, so we were excited that there was close to our hotel on this road trip. And we were not disappointed. Food, drinks and service were excellent. Love that the manager took the time to...stop by and check on us and to see if we were pleased. Wish we had one near us.More
Pleasantly surprised by the tasty food and reasonable prices. Service was good. Free birthday dessert was a plus.
We went there on a Saturday night and reservations were definitely needed. We were disappointed though as our ribeye steaks were very rare despite asking for medium rare. Additionally they were tough. I sent mine bak to the kitchen but it came back tasting of...griddle oil and was still rarer than it should have been. Perhaps we ordered the wrong thing for this restaurant.More
Diverse menu...most American dishes on the menu...full bar...relaxed atmosphere, reasonable prices...will return when we travel from Hilton Head back to Philadelphia in May.
This visit was four friends with concert tickets in nearby Hopewell. The food was very good and the service was good. The staff was helpful and friendly. The prices were appropriate and I enjoyed the atmosphere. I look forward to a return visit.
