My group of crafting friends had lunch together here recently. This being my first time I was so overwhelmed by the extensive menu. I ordered a lunch special which included beans. I love beans but to me the beans I received where just too thin...and looked like soup on my plate. Otherwise my taco and enchilada were good. The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean.More

We had dinner here recently, Mr is not a huge Mexican food fan so it's rare that we go. However, maybe we've changed his mind. We had the tableside guacamole, which is made seasoned to order and is fab. Mr. had some type of pork...dish which arrived with huge chunks of perfectly seasoned and cooked pork. It looked amazing and was too much for a single meal. I had a chicken quesadilla and it was really good. The cost for two for dinner with the guacamole appetizer and two drinks was $37.19 including tax. The food was fresh, well prepared and tasty.More
Husband and I randomly found this restaurant while over in Chesapeake. We don’t live over this way and we were craving a good Mexican lunch. I had one of the best Seafood Chimichangas I’ve ever eaten! Service was extremely fast. Went into the restaurant around...1:25 pm, ordered, ate and was done at 2:01 pm. The refried beans were really creamy. Hubs enjoyed his burrito San Jose. Will definitely try this restaurant again when we are in the area.More
I was in the area and based on the reviews decided to give it a try. First off, the red salsa is homemade and some of the best in this area. My go to meal is Chili Verde. It was average. Too watery and the...meat wasn't marinated so it wasn't tender and tasted like it was just thrown together at the last minute. Finally, I had the Texas Margarita. I have had these at quite a few Mexican restaurants around here and this was the worst. They made it from the premixed stuff in the big dispensers. Service was average but as others have said they do tend to rush you out the door. I wouldn't make a trip to eat here again.More
Visited here twice in a few days whilst staying nearby with work. They food and choice are excellent and the staff friendly and welcoming, I would have no hesitation in recommending or visiting again
Had dinner with my husband here last night. His first visit and my second. Came here with my teenager daughter a little over a month ago and had a great experience. My husband and I sat at the bar and had great conversation with Samuel...and Luis. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant. We got the Mexican guacamole made right beside us. Not to be missed. I could just eat this guacamole. We ordered the amigo dip for a second appetizer and shared the AMAZING “molcajete” entree. Chorizo, chicken, steak, shrimp, carnitas and strips of cactus in a huge volcanic rock mortar sizzling hot that keeps all the contents hot for quite a while. Delicious. I can’t imagine ordering anything else but it’s a lot so plan to share or take leftovers home. Also if it’s your birthday you’re in for a treat! Great mango margarita!More
We finally got around to trying El Puente and are we happy we did! This place is owned by the same folks that own the La Parrilla restaurants in Suffolk, so the menu is pretty much identical. What sets this place apart from them is...the smaller and more intimate floor plan. Very comfortable and cozy and though it doesn't look like much from the street, it is very nice inside. While menu is the same as the other places, it seems to be made with a little more care. The flavors were great, especially when paired with a delicious frozen mango margarita! We will definitely be going back. While getting a table was easy at 7pm on Friday, I'm afraid that when the word finally gets out, that may become more difficult. Guess we'll just have to have a margarita at the bar while we wait!More

We have watched many restaurants with very few facility improvements come and go at this site. El Puente is the first restaurant that has made this place very nice. It is updated and spotless. My wife had enchilada supreme. I'm usually not impressed with this...dish but I took a few bites and it was excellent. I had a fish dish with spinach and white sauce. It was sooooo good. Deserts sounded good but we didn't indulge. Worth your while to check this place out. You won't be disappointed.More
