These are the BEST french fries under the sun. There should be a 12 step program for Al's French Fry addicts. They are made from fresh and perfectly hand cut potatoes. They also sell brown gravy which is ideal for dipping. The fries are definitely the star, but the hot dogs, burgers and root beer floats are yummy as well.... More

They have the best fast food, real hamburgers, real French fries, real milk shakes. They are quite fast in their service. The kitchen is open and you can see that it is very clean and the workers are following clean practices. The have wonderful creemees in the summer too, but didn't have one 2 days ago as it was 30... Frys , frys, and more frys lol. These things werer awesome. Fresh hand cut French fries that go awesome with some cheese sauce. . but most importantly with vinegar. The cheeseburger is food and basic, but fancy by any means but it will hit the spot

We go to Al's a couple times each year when we have a hankering for some cheap, old-school fast food. The fries are the best part, with lots of vinegar. You won't regret getting them. Everything else is pretty standard "white bread" American fried food. Other than the fries, it's nothing special, but the experience is worth it a couple... More

Not fine dining but fine diner food and a good place to get some ice cream in the summer. The fries here are particularly good.

best fast food restaurant with a 40's flair. They are known for their wonderful french fries and 50's music, like the old days of the fifties

Amazing French fries that have been recognized nationally, including MSN and the New York Times. Everything else...well. A classic diner 50s style. Great creamies. ICONIC. A must visit to Burlington, VT. Tums necessary if over 40 ;-)

This is one place I return to at least once a year. Fries are as God intended. Burgers are made to order. Place is very clean, diner atmostphere. In the summer the garden out front makes me green with envy. Be prepared to stand in line for a few minutes, and it's well worth it!

It's nothing fancy at all, but the burgers and fries are great. The staff has always been friendly and kind. If you're in the area and looking for American food, try Als.

It is a fast food restaurant that is sort of like White Castle, but with a distinctive local flair as this is a local fixture. The French fries are fresh cut and are the best in the world.
