Three of us ate at the Mill Tavern this weekend and I was quite disappointed. The atmosphere is great, the menu is varied and interesting. The prices are way to high for what they offer, though. I eat in Manhattan often, and these are typical NYC prices, not Vermont prices. Most entrees are in the $30+ range and portions are large. I... More

A Vermont winter tradition for visitors and locals alike. Now made even better with a new chef! Cozy fireplaces and hearty New England fare make for a warm and atmospheric dining experience. The french onion soup, any of the beef dishes, and the bread pudding are highlights. Go for the scallops or chicken parm if you aren't a red meat... More

We love this restaurant, though it is open only seasonally. It is comfy-cozy, great homemade soups & organic food, delicious, mouth-watering steaks, & a roaring fireplace. Would like a larger wine selection, but otherwise, it is a great restaurant.

Friday night dinner before a ski weekend is critical. one must be fueled up. no problem here as the portions are huge although the prices approach those of NYC. our party had salads to start and mains were crab cakes (delish), Mediterranean shrimp pasta (flavorful) and prime rib (nicely cooked). our waitress and host were warm and inviting, the house... After a long day of snowboarding, was a great little restaurant. Nice warm bread. Soups yummy. Great meal of crab cakes, veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. Staff and owner were pleasant. Loved the vintage Mill and farm equipment.

I had been to the Mill a very long time ago and it was a dark but fun bar. My wife and I went there the other evening for dinner, it was still dark, very dark. The food was mediocre , except for the cheese cake. I am glad we had a gift certificate , the food was not worth... More

On Saturday night (March 7), my friends and I made the mistake to go to the Mill. We were four adults with four little kids, the youngest 2 years old. The place was recommended to us for the atmosphere and we decided to go there, although some of the reviews (see “An appeal to Ed…”) were raising a red flag.... More

We always wanted to visit The Mill Tavern. We decided to take friends from Massachusetts there as part of the winter Vermont experience. Upon entering the building, you are surrounded by an assortment of antique farm tools hanging from the rafters. The floor boards are old, uneven and squeaky! Just what we were hoping for! The owner, Ed, greets you... More

I've been going to the Mill Tavern in the winters for about 8 years now. The place is associated in my brain with dark, cozy, fire-blazing, woozy from skiing all day, glass of wine, smokey, old wood and antiques, Vermont, weekend, juicy steak and potato happiness. I LOVE LOVE LOVE going there. The owner Ed is always greeting people at... More
