We had eaten here previously this summer with pleasant results, so last Sunday evening we took our daughter, son-in-law, and two young grandchildren for dinner. What a fiasco! We were seated at 6:30, and endured an hour and 25 minute wait until our food finally arrived at 7:55. We aren't talking about beef Wellington either; a burger. a salad, two... More

I've been here twice for breakfast and my dining partner and I were both thrilled with our food. The service is also excellent.

The burgers are average, the fries are poor and the service was terrible. The beers were cold and the soup was good.

We spent three nights at the hotel and never had a good experience in the restaurant. People had to wait for a table even though all the tables were not in service.

Food was great, service was painfully slow. With some foreign servers who did not have best grasp of the English language

First of all, I must say that while we have never stayed at the Essex, it's public areas are lovely, lovely, lovely! And the staff has always been very helpful. We have been there for events and they were always excellent! We live near the Essex, and would love to love the Tavern Restaurant because it is so convenient. The... More

I took my Great-Aunt to lunch on a Monday - a day when many Burlington restaurants are closed. There is a nice long bar with tables inside but we wanted to sit outside. We were at a lovely table with an umbrella surrounded by flowers, butterflies and lunching ladies. The food was delicious - light and tasty and the service... More

The menu was severely cut back from the published on online. There were no vegetarian choices and they could not accommodate me. I had to have them remove the meat from a salad and I ate some very mediocre nachos. The A/C was up too high too. Sunday brunch was quite good. We ate outside in the garden. It was... More

We had a great meal on $4 pint night , listening to live music and enjoying excellent food . I had the wings which had the best blue cheese dressing ever ! My wife ordered the cobb salad which,if anything ,had too much meat and cheese. Blueberry crumble dessert with A1 icecream capped a very good meal.
