I have been here a few times now and have tried multiple items on the menu. Today I had the Apple Cheddar Salad and added grilled chicken. It was delicious! One of the best salads I've ever had. The Switchback Fish and Chips and The Shirt Sleeve are also very good. Waitstaff is usually very friendly and attentive. I've only... More

I went to Sweetwaters on Friday night while visiting a friend. We had reservations so we scooted right in. The decor is really nice. I think the building used to be a bank. Service was good and the food was delicious. Word to the wise-- appetizers are HUGE. Get them to share. The pulled pork nachos were wonderful. I wish... More

Yes, pulled pork nachos are on on the "run, don't walk list." And yes, the building is the old Burlington Trust, built back in the 1850s. So glad you had a great time. We look forward to serving you again. More

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and were seated right away! We sat alongside the Main Street for people watching! We both started off ordering the fried calamari in a sweet chili dressing with arugula! It was outstanding! My husband ordered the bricked cooked chicken with a raspberry semi glaze, fresh broccoli and a creamy... More

This restaurant has good food but slightly pricier. Good value for lunch. The food is good and service is great. The only reason I gave a 3 was because the restaurant is kind of dingy during the day. At night, you might not notice, but during day, you can see all the wear and tear.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We keep up wiht the daily maintenance and cleanliness but the carpet specifically is not wearing well and leads to a generally tired feel during the day. We will be closing for a few days in March for an overhaul. Please visit us again and let us know if you like the new look! More

Needed a place big enough for our family to gather after a death in the family. Our waiter was amazing, so attentive to our needs. At one point he came over to ask if we all had a safe way of getting home after drinking, which I found to be very thoughtful. The food was good and done very well.... More

We stopped for lunch and I ordered some tomato soup and a sandwich. The sandwich was a turkey wrap, that had very little turkey and hint of bacon and lots of lettuce. The tomato soup tasted more like a tomato sauce, was think and only had three coupons, and no oyster crackers, which I enjoy with all my soups. The... More

How did this place get so big and so popular? Barely passable and unimaginative pub food. Limited cocktail menu and understandably harried (though still polite and professional) waitstaff.

Love their fries. So crispy and delicious! The fish and chips were great. The service was friendly. Picked a good veggie bean burger too... the specials are worth a try out. Must go!

My family and I ate here in December, 2016. I made a reservation before we left home. We were seated right away and enjoyed the ambiance of this historic restaurant. Taylor D., our waitress, was very friendly. She had forgotten to put our appetizer order in (poutine) and apologized profusely. The manager even came over and said he wouldn't charge... More

Description
Sweetwaters is an American Bistro with an unique twist on your favorite eats. For over 30 years, we've been serving fantastic cuisine with local ingredients in a family-friendly atmosphere in the heart of Burlington, on the corner of College and Church Streets on the charming Church Street Marketplace. Architecturally interesting, Sweetwaters is housed in what was the original site of the Burlington Trust Company. Built in the 1880s, the building retains its original mouldings, cornerstone, clock and architectural appointments.

With a full bar, extensive menu, unique interior, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, Sweetwaters certainly has something for everybody. We serve lunch and dinner daily, with a late night menu for all you night owls out there.
