We were looking for a quick lunch without the hassle of having to wait for our food from either a waitress or a long line of sorts. We stopped by here based on other Trip Advisor reviews (which I use religiously). What a great find!...More

Came here for breakfast. Coffee was good. Had the maple biscuit to eat. Enjoyed it. Service was good.

This is the sort of casual, granola-y bakery cafe that you find in Burlington, Portland (Maine), Portland (Oregon), and Seattle. It is inexpensive (plates range from 9 to 12 dollars), and the sandwiched and salads freshly made. They use bread made on the premises. There...More

Excellent coffee, great bread and pastries make this a terrific place to stop. Like probably everybody else in town, I absolutely love the maple biscuits. Only complaint (and some would probably consider it a benefit) is that no computers are allowed. I suppose it is...More

August First is a really casual, breakfast and lunch spot. They have some incredible freshly baked pastries and breads. Their Hungarian Rolls are my absolute favorite thing they make. They also have a nice selection of salads and sandwiches. Highly recommended!

Great breakfast and delicious coffee. Great little place out of the way worth a visit. Close to Church Street.

How novel, a breakfast spot that serves food that looks and tastes like food. Everything was local and delicious. Great spot to hang out, too, and sip your coffee.

Fresh breads, beautiful baked goods and generous portions of everything. Breakfast sandwiches, home fries and smoothie bowls were all delicious and generous in size. The restaurant is housed in an old building with garage doors and has a great comfortable, local feel to it.

Great selection with local food and freshly made bread you will not soon forget. I had the curried chicken salad sandwich and it was excellent. It is a lively place with fast and friendly counter service and seating inside and out.

August First Bakery and Cafe is locally owned and has been serving great pastries, coffee, breakfast and lunch since 2009. A true local favorite, located in a bright and open renovated industrial garage. A very Vermont experience with fresh and delicious food served by a friendly staff. Everything is made from scratch! Croissants, scones, muffins, Koiugn Amann, healthy soups and salads.
