This is a once in a while wonderful treat for special occasions. Wonderful atmosphere and service and special seasonal menus.

When we pulled up, I thought I was over dressed. Upon entering, I saw I was just right. (Nice jeans, a blouse and heals). The atmosphere was phenomenal. Open kitchen so you can watch all the action. It's very intimate. We had lovely halibut and scallops and an excellent peach cobbler dessert. The combinations of flavors are wonderful. Our appetizers... More

T.J. Buckley's is not cheap for Brattleboro pockets, though you can spend twice the money at a New York restaurant and get half the value. For me, it is the go-to place in Brattleboro if you want to have a really special, intimate dining experience. The place is small--it is a converted dining car that seats only about 20 or... More

Eight of us reserved well ahead and had a wonderful evening at TJ Buckley's. This is about as good as it gets anywhere in western New England. The service is quite outstanding, not pretentious, just excellent. You can watch the chef in the kitchen and watch the staff work well together. One had scallops, seared and cooked to perfection. Another... More

'Farm to table' style can appear simple, but treating fresh and extremely local ingredients with the care they deserve is a rare feat and a rare treat. Chef Michael Fuller's thoughtful presentations and preparations kept my husband and me in foodie heaven for the 4 courses. Starters: smoked trout/chèvre tart (me) - I say don't miss it; crab cake (SO)... More

My husband just took me here for a belated birthday dinner. I am challenging when it comes to preparing a meal I will like. So I approached this meal as I generally do - hoping that it would be something my husband would love and something that I might not hate. I had the first part right - my husband... More

This is a huge surprise: a tiny restaurant located in an old railroad car on an unimpressive side street, the food is extraordinary and worth every penny of the high price. The presentation, service, and vibe all mesh to create a perfect dining experience - and the soft jazz standards in the background help set the mood. Go there for... More

My husband and I tried T.J. Buckley's for the first time last week. The atmosphere was charming and cosy because it is a little diner car made over into a fancy restaurant with candlelight and linens. We sat next to an opening where we could see the kitchen and the preparation. It was fun watching the prep and the garnishing.... More

Incredible food - our family of 3 dinned there in October 2015 and were blown away by the freshness of the ingredients, the care and talent shown in the preparation and presentation. This was our most expensive dinner in Brattleboro but definitely worth it for a special evening. From the appetizer to the desert, not one misstep and each of... More

A long established Brattleboro culinary experience, TJ Buckley's never disappoints. Chef extraordinaire Michael Fuller is a genius at the blending of flavors into complex, intricate, beyond delicious combinations. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic yet has an ease - never stuffy. Reservations a must since it's small and the pace is old world.
