Staying in Killkington for a fall weekend with friends. This is a 1/2 hour drive but worth it. I started with an escargot napolean. The excargot were tender and lightly seasoned. The greens were fresh and tasty. For my main course I had barley risotto wrapped in filol. Very interesting and a generous portion. The wine list is weak, but... More

Brandon is a very cute little town about 20 miles north of Rutland. There seems to be great young chefs all over central Vt and this place has one. We tried the house Bloody Mary's and they were great. We went for a little Sunday lunch and really enjoyed our meals. I had the seafood stew which was rich and... More

Good food and wine selection. The soups were really great and the entrees were worth the visit. Nice wine selections, too. The menu is typical for Vermont - full of fresh, local ingredients and mostly organic. A nice foodie experience! It is not inexpensive - lunch was 2 glasses of wine, 2 soups and 2 entrees = $65 + tip.

Stopped in here for lunch and we are glad we did. My wife had the vegetable wrap and it was perfect. Fresh and lightly sautéed vegetables in a grilled wrap garnished with a small salad, just perfect. I had the fish and chips. Very nicely presented, cooked perfectly with a side of seasoned fries. The portion was a little small... More

This review is for the Center Street bar located just below the Café Provence restaurant. If you're looking for a pub like environment backed up by your choice of simple bar food or something more elegant from the French restaurant located above, the Center St. Bar will meet your needs. My wife had a salad topped with calamari which was... More

Stopped in for a basic lunch ... panni and burger. Fries were out of this world. My server was also out of this world - she had shorted cropped curly hair and was a dynamo. Not hovering, but there in a flash - the best smile in the world - and she really knew her stuff when I asked about... More

While staying one night at the Lilac Inn in Brandon, my college roommate of over 50 years ago and I had dinner at the Cafe. It was fairly full indoors so we decided to sit instead on the terrace where it was much quieter. We opted for the daily specials along with glasses of the house red wine. She had... More

While at the Brandon town auction, this summer we were very pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant. My husband and I both had a wonderful quiche and a local beer. Great food and service in the heart of Vermont. Love this state.

Stopped here for lunch while passing though town. Cute little town with a few shops. Was pleasantly surprised with my chicken and avocado sandwich, it was absolutely delicious. My husband had the Cajun chicken sandwich which he enjoyed. Fairly quick service and friendly waitress. Would definitely eat here again and highly recommend.

Very conveniently located on route 7, a French bistro with quality food. Service was friendly, wine list by the class was excellent and well-priced (nice for lunch), good menu, food was solid to pretty good. The restaurant is the cornerstore of a mini gastro-empire with a cooking school, catering and a bakery 250 feet further down. Very child-friendly
