In addition to going there we have also had them cater several parties at our home in Simonton. There food and selection has been excellant and their crew was friendly and efficiennt.
Both the location and the building belie the wonderful food. Great BBQ, tasty sides (love the black-eyed pea salad), and scrumptious desserts. Our visit shortly before Thanksgiving gave us the impression everyone in town was getting their holiday desserts there. The meringue-topping on pies is a good four inches high if not more and, yes, delicious. It's a bit off... More
Never a bad choice when visiting the areas where the Hinze's BBQ has a shop. This one in Wharton, Tx happens to be one of the smaller and cheerful joint. Nice selection and order at the window and its served to your table. Lunch specials are good value and the two meat combo with side are a must. Settled for... More
Everything is great. I usually get garlic mashed potatoes, 3 meat plate (lean beef, sausage, ribs) and green beans. The best ever. <y son loves the chicken fried steak. Enjoy!
We discovered this gem while visiting Wharton, TX. It's parking lot was full and we found out why - delicious home-style BBQ cooking at reasonable prices. We ordered their Sunday special, Turkey & Dressing with two sides: baked potato casserole and green beans. The portion sizes were generous. Their desserts looked scrumptious but we were too full from our entrée... More
We shared finger licking good, moist barbecued chicken, fried okra, mac & cheese, black-eyed peas, and coleslaw. We were good and did not order the mile high pie for dessert, but we took a picture of the tantalizing pies topped with meringue in the glass case. Simply delicious and unpretentious. Full of local color. So worth it!
Went to the new place after the old one burned down and thought we'd try it out. Our mistake!!! The food was horrible and service even worse!! They used to be better at their highway location. Sealy is the best Hinze's BBQ there is hands down!!! Good food and good service!! They never let me down either coming or going... More
Knowing we would be passing thru Wharton, a friend recommended we eat at Hinze's. I appreciated the recommendation, as it was very good food, generous portions, and friendly service. W. Wagner, SF, TX.
