I live minutes away and finally decided to go today, WOW ! The food was absolutely fabulous, so may things on their Platter neither my wife or myself could eat it all. The staff is a small friendly and very helpful group and we were very pleased with all of it. Been around here 37 years and have seen the... More

came for the ghosts and left with nothing but anger. once you sit you wait. and wait. and wait. empty restaurant but still you wait. maybe the ghosts ate the servers. food is ok once you get it. never a drink refill. no checking if the food was ok. horrible service. then the bill is $80 for mediocre fried fish... Worth the wait. Hospitable. Fresh cat fish. Frozen type French fries though. Lovely large patio set in mature trees. Cheesecake and cobbler was tasty. Free dessert birthday. In a charming old house. Located away from main traffic. Walk there from chastat house bed and breakfast plus a discount.

This is the first time I've had catfish drenched in flour. Surprisingly it was quite tasty and crispy. We all pretty much ordered the mixed plates of catfish which consisted of both the cajun flour and cornmeal battered catfish. The flour battered catfish was crispy and seasoned just right. The catfish filets were the perfect size. We had a party... More

This place is a favorite for my family, the ghost stories are fun and the food is delicious. It is a Victorian style home converted into a restaurant and it's very popular so seating large groups is a bit of a problem sometimes and they do not take reservations but the staff is amazing and they go out of their... Loyal diners for the past 15 years, we have seen a notable decline in the service in the last couple of years. The hosts (there have been a slew) do a fair job, but we noticed one young man who was quite disagreeable as the first point of contact for customers. The servers run the gamut from experienced to caring... More

Dear P.B. I am sorry to hear that. Please know that we do care and I have been having some major medical problems and my parents have been trying to pick up the slack. They are both well in their 60s and my father often times has been having to cook in the kitchen. He will be 70 years old... More

We had eaten here many years ago but not lately. We decided to go early before an event at night to eat first. Of all the restaurants in Waxahachie this has always been the best. This time I found it even more charming. The servers/hostess was gracious and told us after seating to roam around the old Victorian home to... More

The catfish was mild but absolutely delicious! I had both types, Cajun and standard breading. Cole slaw was great, too. Excellent service and a fun environment.

Quite small place but delicious food. Neat place to have lunch or dinner and fun to read about all the ghosts stories that has occurred there.

So this restaurant is not on the beaten path, which already gets kudos points, but it has some downsides. Although we were one of the first people to arrive, on a wednesday night, when the restaurant opened, we still had to wait 20 minutes to get seated. Unfortauntely, that also meant a limited menu of mostly fried food. The cat... More
