We read about the poor service, but tried it anyway. The lady that waited on us was pleasant and prompt. And.... the food was really, really good! We had catfish and crawfish and both were delicious. We will definitely go back.

I don't quite understand some of the negative reviews. My wife and I had eaten there in 2015 and liked it. We ate there again yesterday (3/25/2017) and we both had very good meals. My wife had a fried tilapia shrink combination and I had fresh flounder blackened. Both meals were very good.

My husband wanted to go to Red Lobster but I detest chains and when he suggested The Reef, I eagerlly agreed as it had been some time since we visited. Oh my, I knew that we were in trouble when we first got there and was seated in the back corner of the restaurant, even though there were closer tables.... More

After leaving one restaurant because they were out of an advertised item, we decided to try the Reef. We were immediately seated. Drinks were delivered and orders were taken quickly. Salads were served and after 45 minutes, we spoke to the manager to find out what had happened to our meals. We watched two tables in our area be seated... More

This place was close to our hotel. We decided to check it out for dinner. We got there in time for Happy Hour which were $2.00 margaritas. They were good and strong. The waitress brought us our drinks and hush puppies to start. But didn't come back for almost 45 minutes. Once we finally ordered our dinner. It was good.... More

Let me start off by saying the appetizer was the only ok thing I had. That would be alligator and some jalapeño and cheese stuffed balls. The food was not good at all I ate only two bites of my chicken fried steak. My hubby didn't like his food either some kind of seafood taco and it had no flavor... More

I haven't been to this restaurant in years and figured I would check it out. The appetizers "cajun nuts" were good and the fried alligator needed more seasoning, but alright. I ordered the seafood enchiladas. Totally disappointed with the meal. The dish came with dirty rice and beans. The enchiladas consisted of cheese filled tortillas covered with shrimp, scallops and... The food was just OK. The service was the worst I have had anywhere in my life. The drinks we received after sitting down were the only tea we had, the waitress never came back to refill them. Upon finally receiving our food, 10 minutes after the next table who ordered the same exact thing and arrived after we did.... More

This is a great place if you're really hungry for seafood. Nothing fancy or high brow but well prepared. The service was excellent and the prices very reasonable. In addition to seafood they also serve a good steak. All portions very generous.
