Was visiting Dallas for a business dinner. Truluck's in Southlake is very close to the north entrance of DFW airport. The restaurant specializes in all types of crab - especially stone crab. I am not much into cracking and removing crab meat, especially at a business dinner, but other options existed. I started with a crab cocktail (not on the... More
I recently hosted a business dinner here for 4 associates. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our waiter promptly took our drink orders and delivered menus. We ordered crab claws and tuna tartar for appetizers, which were both excellent. Then we all ordered steaks. Mine was a little overdone, but on the whole the beef was an excellent cut. I... More
Excellent food, impeccable service. Lack of customer skills ruined our night and directly lead to our early departure from our mini respite. Never again shall I visit this restaurant. Our reservation was placed early in the week. Upon arrival the young man took us to a booth at the back of the place by the kitchen doors.I asked for one... More
If you are around the area i would say is probably the best choice, the place is very nice, excellent service, the food is delicious, we had the lobster tail and king crab and we love it. The lounge area is also very nice to stop for drinks. Make a reservation, apparently the place is always full.
Wife and I plus #1 son and his girlfriend dined at TruLuck's on Wednesday, 4/12. Phil, our waiter, took very good care of us - thank you Phil! Wife and I had the 'surf&turf' 7oz filet & lobster near the same size (wonderful). Son had crab legs that were huge. Looked like 1.5" diameter. His girlfriend had the lobster dinner.... More
This is the place, if you'd like to make an impression. Very intimate and romantic... The bar is classy and very welcoming. The food and service was without flaw - exceptional.
Truluck's is on the pricey side. dinner, one drink,no dessert ran $70.00 per person with tip. There is good selection of seafood along with steak. The bar does a big business and has happy hour pricing.Parking is a bit of of a problem. The valet service is the best bet. The bar is very popular. The service was as expected,very... More
This is a large restaurant with a great bar. As I was alone I ate in the bar area which was busy and had a nice duo singing. The food was OK but my steak was terrible (fat/sinew) but what was really good was the way they handled it. I complained to my server who told the duty manager, she... More
I'm in town for work. I typically go to Bob's Steakhouse when I'm in town. I was thrilled when I found out there was a trulucks not that far away. It's one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. I took an uber from the gym because I was craving their Chilean Sea Bass. I'm not a huge fish person.... More
My only question is, how on earth does this restaurant get such rave reviews (for the most part)? These 4-5 star reviewers must have never experienced a truly fine dining experience in a restaurant. Yes, the atmosphere was nice even though noisy and the server was very good but the food was generally mediocre at best, the drinks were weak (especially for $10) and the food prices were high. We had eaten at the Trulucks in Addison, TX twice. We went back the second time only because we thought we had been there the first time on an "off night" and it deserved another try. The second visit was still disappointing so we never went back. Our visit to the Grapevine, TX location was based on a recommendation and the overwhelmingly positive reviews. The restaurant in Addison closed and it was in the heart of restaurant row there. Perhaps that happened as results from just ok food and drinks combined with significant overpricing.
