I came to Austin on business and was told how good the BBQ is at Salt Lick. We had the platters at table. The best part of the whole meal was the short ribs. The brisket and regular ribs were a bit overcooked. The sides were ok and the service not so much. A little disappointing.

We had not been to this restaurant in several years, having gone once right after it opened. We felt like BBQ and so decided to come here again. Big mistake! The food was horrible -- brisket was dry and actually bland, the side dishes were either tasteless or too peppery (with the potato salad not being cold and the beans... More

My wife and I got the Rancher plate hear and all the food was amazing. Comes with 2 ribs, brisket, turkey, sausage, beans, coleslaw, and a German potato salad all for about $18 a plate. They will also bring out fresh bread pickles and onions. This was great for us as neither one of us could finish our entire plate,... More

Great BBQ place to bring visitors. Picnic style outdoor dining with Edison bulbs strung they the trees gives off the Texas vibe right away. The service was friendly and our food came out in minutes! Everything we ordered was delicious. The restaurant filled up quickly and they were definitely understaffed for a busy Friday night, but they remained pleasant. There... More

Been wanting to try this place forever. Boy, was I ever disappointed! Some of the toughest brisket I've ever had. The potato salad was just mashed potatoes with no seasoning and the coleslaw was just shredded cabbage with vinegar. The waitress came to take my order and brought my check. She passed by plenty of times, but never bothered to... More

We decided to take some out of town family to the Salt Lick in Round Rock. I've not liked this location as well as the original in Driftwood in the past. Unbeknownst to us the Dell Diamond next door had an international rugby game and the restaurant was extremely busy. We were seated in 20 minutes instead of the 45... More

Being new to the Round Rock area, we decided to try Salt Lick because everyone has bragged about it for so long. It was pretty good, but not as great as I expected due to what everyone kept saying. I love their potato salad, it's very different than anything I've had before. My favorite is their homemade bread. Sooo good!... More

Was told we had to stop for dinner and boy are we glad we did. some of the best meat you will ever taste. Being a senior, bought the smaller size and then ordered an extra 1/4 pound as it tasted that good! also - the best Cold Slaw I have ever tasted..
