We had one dinner free to enjoy a local favorite. An employee at the hotel we stayed at suggested Reno Red's. We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere, superb service, great selections and the food quality were all home runs. As we left everyone in the group agreed that it stated their expectations. The crowds waiting for tables only reinforced why this... More

We moved to Texas a little over a year ago and have been trying every Texas BBQ place we could find. Reno Red's is so good we've been back twice in the last month. The atmosphere is very homey old Texas where you'll be comfortable in jeans or church clothes. The service is excellent (our favorite server is Shay, but... More

We came for a late lunch and the place was not crowded. We placed our order and it took quite awhile to serve. Since this was after the lunch rush I thought it would be a quick in and out but not to be. I selected the lunch special combo of beef brisket (a bit dry) and ribs (meat fell... More

10 years ago I asked my realtor where I could get a unique Texas "down home" chow? It was here, although under a different name at the time. Now, I live in Roanoke. Dining is non-smoking. The Bar allows smoking. My favs are the Buffalo Burger, local Buffalo herds are nearby, with a huge serving of salad and muffins and... More

My son and I came here for dinner one evening while staying in the area. We arrived at 6:30 and were immediately brought to our table. The restaurant has great decor and ambiance. The service was excellent from the beginning until the end. This place gets busy fast and seems to handle large parties well. It's not easy to decide... More

Portion sizes are huge but prices are reasonable. So bring your appetite or be ready to share a meal. Our server, Lauren, was amazing. So friendly and attentive. We love coming here. Their BBQ is great too!!

Reno Reds has been in Roanoke since the 90's and we love eating there. The service is always good and friendly the the BBQ is awesome. You have to try the Banderos !!! I am partial to the chicken ones which are bacon wrapped chicken and jalapeño (not too spicy) with cheese. They are to die for as an appetizer... More

The wait staff were very friendly and the service was fast. When it came to the food, nothing but top notch. The only down side which i can see was the 8oz beer and margaritas. We are not big drinkers, but a little bigger would be nice on a rare night out.

In town for quick weekend away and happened upon this great place. Right off the bat our waitress, Kate, was helpful in not only pointing out the specials but also what her family likes to get when they eat there. Great endorsement. Kate also convinced us to get a full order of the banderos vs. the 1/2 order. Excellent call!... More

Description
Just who is Reno Red? Look out the windows and gaze back into the time of the great cattle drives of the Old West. The Chisholm Trail was not far from right here. Among those hard working cowboys along the trail that carried half of all the cattle in Texas, was the great chuck wagon master, Reno Red. Cowboys knew when they saw his chuck wagon it meant there was going to be some good eatin' and tales to tell. For most cowboys the chuck wagon was truly their home on the range. And if the chuck wagon was their home, the cook was their king. Because the morale of the men and the smooth functioning of the camp depended on him, the cook's authority was unquestioned. Reno Red is our "Chuck Wagon Master" and the inspiration for our decor and our menu recipes. We have many of Reno's favorite original recipes. And just like Reno, we cook our food on an open mesquite grill for that true frontier cooking experience. Time has come for the tales of Reno Red to be told. We want our customers to know who that cowboy is in our logo. More tales to come . . .
