This place is awesome but get there early because you are going to have to wait in line. The secret is already out.

We stopped here on our way out of New Braunfels and were glad we did. Originally we were only getting snacks for us two, but ended up buying over $30 of assorted breads and cakes. When we arrived around 2pm there was no car in the parking lot but us. 15min later we left and the parking lot had over... More

Family stopped by Sat. morning. Utilized the drive thru as line was out the door. Ordered half a strudel, a bear claw, fried pies, and a danish. The fried pies were small and fairly well done with decent flavor. The danish was small also but my daughter liked its texture and flavor. The bear claw bore no resemblance to a... More

Patrick, it's genuinely disappointing to hear we didn't make a stronger first impression, and if any of our sweets were less than delicious we want to apologize. We've been able to call ourselves the oldest bakery in Texas because we've been delighting our customers consistently for decades, so anytime we miss the mark we take it seriously. Here's hoping you'll... More

Historic and delicious! I have great childhood memories of this place and their treats still taste as delicious as ever! I'm a sucker for their bear claws and sweet German pretzels. Naegelin's is a must-visit place for me whenever I'm within driving distance!

Be prepared to go to the end of the line on a Saturday morning. But the line moves really fast with 3-4 hosts behind the counter. This place is popular. The baked goods are the best and the prices are so reasonable. Lots of good German goods and you can see everything before you buy, even if you can't pronounce... More

On our first trip to New Braufels, and I saw this gem was the oldest bakery in Texas, so I just had to stop in. They have a LOT of choices. Bear claws, donuts, strudel, bread, cupcakes, pies, rolls, brownies, cookies...just about any baked good you can think of, and the prices were AMAZING! We just had donuts, because I... More

Delicious baked goods and quick, friendly service. We always visit a time or two when we're in New Braunfels. A Naegelin's pastry and coffee by the river = Perfect Texas Morning for me.Everything is tasty, but try the big, fat, soft and chewy gingerbread men. So sweet, spicy and delicious. Also the bear claws and the fried pies, cheese pockets... More

Every time my family comes out I take them here for the strudel, cookies and doughnuts. Compared to another 'hip' bakery in new braunfels this place takes the cake :) prices are rock bottom and the kids love the smiley face cookies. The fried pies are great but by the afternoon they are usually sold out. If you are looking... More

I grew up in New Braunfels and Naegelin's was a stop that we made on a weekly basis. When I am in town I always have to stop and bring bags full of yummy goodies to Houston.

Description
The fresh cookies, pastries, pies and cakes from Naegelin's Bakery are of historic proportions and timeless quality. It's all in the preparation. The Granzin family still uses recipes developed by the Naegelin family during more than a century of experimentation to get the right ingredients. As you walk into the front door of the bakery, the sweet smell of baked foods engulfs you like a warm blanket. The glass cases are full of what seems like an almost endless array of cookies and pastries in a rainbow of colors. The bakery is still famous for their strudels that Naegelin perfected years ago. The Granzin's have added terrific sausage kolaches in addition to the menu of fruit filled kolaches. We suggest you try the popular favorite: the Lebkuche, a thick, rectangular brown cookie covered with pink frosting. Don't forget to try our apple strudel! We look forward to seeing you soon!
