This place is great! If you like good seafood, then this is your place. We love to eat here and cannot enjoy a meal without the huge plate of delicious onion rings with bbq sauce for dipping. Their fried shrimp and catfish are wonderful and they have lots of options on their menu, they even have great burgers.

Should add Onion rings, fresh crisp just the right amount of breading. now for the Catfish, it is obviously fresh, lightly breaded not to hide flavor of fish. Babybackribs cooked just right, come off the bone, but don't fall off the bone. Sauce is not too sweet. Those three items will keep you coming back

Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere! It has been few years since I have eaten at Clear Springs and it still is as good as it has always been. On this visit, I enjoyed the Crawfish Étouffée. Clear Springs étouffée is tomato based, which is a bit different, blended with vegetables and seasonings, and is very good. May man friend had... More

I've been going to Clear Springs for years now...probably 15. The foods has always been consistent. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Food is not over the top good, but its quite tasty. I usually get the fried shrimp and fish platter. Hush puppies are very good and flavorful.

Clear Springs was highly recommended by several friends of ours. We went with very high hopes, and the food was good. It not worth all of the talk. The margarita I ordered tasted like a pre mixed frozen drink that could have been made at home. As far as the food goes, I had the pick two with crawfish étouffée... More

We've been here multiple times and I usually get the Little Buddy (catfish and shrimp) since it's so good. This time I got the Little Buddy...oh yeah, you knew that. My wife selected the Fish & Chips and it was very nice. She shared some of the fish (cod) and it was very flaky and delicious. I will order the... More

This was our first visit....won't be our last! We started with a small order of Onion Rings (2 people). They were soooooooooo good! My husband had Mahi-Mahi with crawfish etoufee' and I had a chicken fried steak. Both meals were really good. There was a lot of people there, but we didn't have too long of a wait. We had... More

I really hate to share secrets and I don't. However, this one is worth sharing so the owner's stay in business so we can keep coming back. It's just a fun place. The Cafe has history - catfish a must. From that it grew and grew. Parking in front and on side. Relaxed atmosphere. Outside waiting area that's covered. Furnishings... More

You can't go there and not have the large order of onion rings. These are so good, you'll never order them anywhere else. There is no comparison. Top them with a little hot sauce and wow! Crunchy, nicely seasoned batter, moist soft but not mushy onion. Fried, but not greasy tasting. My husband loves the catfish plate. He always orders... More

Description
This was the very first Clear Springs location. It's actually located in Clear Springs, Texas between Seguin and New Braunfels. The building dates back to 1869 when it was mainly used as a grocery store for the locals. If you are ever in the area, it's worth the trip to check out the history that's behind this popular location. You better come early, standing room only is a common sight here.
