Pros: great service and atmosphere, low cost food and wine, good starter salad and garlic bread Cons: main courses have at least twice the salt they should have, the chicken parmesan was nearly impossible to eat due to fried chicken being over-salted with salty meat sauce on top This is one of the worst tasting Italian meals we've ever eaten... Thanks for letting me know. I have alerted the kitchen manager at that location to see if something happened. We've served the same recipe of meat sauce for 50 years now, and it does tend to taste a little salty, which is good on pasta, but not so much when put on something also salty like the Chicken Parmesan. I heard of "Northern Italian" food, but this menu makes you wonder how they combined southwestern style spices and ingredients into Italian food But they do....and not really successfully You need to skip most of the specialties and order carefully and you can get some passable Italian fare I'm not sure the fascination with "fusion" food makes this a worthy... Texas Monthly coined the phrase "Tex-Italia" to describe Orlando's "fusion" menu. Back in 1980. When Mike Cea opened Orlando's in 1965 he brought green chilies from New Mexico along with his family. Orlando's has always been a little different, and that has enabled us to survive for 50 years now, in a very competitive market. Orlando's on Ave. Q is... More

I love their pizza, and now that in gluten and lactose intolerant, I can still partake by bringing a gluten free crust and have them leave off the cheese. It's still as yummy as it always has been!

That's innovative, bringing in your own crust! We looked at providing gluten free pizza and pasta but given the scale and volume of our restaurants we were very concerned we would slip up and get flour on the GF products. I'm glad we were able to accommodate you. I know it is tough being GF and lactose free! More

We had lunch here and 2 ordered salads, 1 ordered minestrone soup, one had cheese soup & salad and one ordered cheese ravioli. We waited over an hour to receive our food. The waiter was very apologetic but for some reason the kitchen staff just could not get out 3 salads, 2 bowls of soup and cheese raivioli. They lost... More

Great Italian food choices plus a few extras. The mafia Queso is fantastic and the blue cheese dressing for my salad is always the best I get anywhere. Pizza, and pasta are always tasty.

Every once in a while we get a complaint that our blue cheese dressing is not "real" blue cheese dressing, but 99% of the comments love the blue cheese crumbles that are visible. Hard to please everyone, but I am glad we pleased you! Thanks for taking the time to write such a nice review, and come back soon! More

OH, my. We ate here two nights in a row. The first night the food and the service were so superb we decided to go back again. The second night the food and service were just as good. What a delightful treat. We split an entree each night, got an extra salad, had garlic bread (delicious) and had a bottle... More

Thanks for the compliments! We try very hard to create a nice place to go. We've been in Lubbock 50 years, but we never take anyone's business for granted. We live here too! Next time try the Green Chile Chicken Pizza! Yum! More

One of our most favorite places to dine in Lubbock. Quaint little place, great food, wine, and outstanding staff. The Italian decor adds to the ambience of this restaurant. Whenever family and friends visit from out of town they always request that we add Orlando's as one of the dining choices wile they are here in Lubbock.

We're 50 years old but we never rest on our laurels, we just keep trying to provide a nice place to go for the Lubbock locals, and those who wander in from afar. This is my favorite "unofficial" saying--"Orlando's, Nowhere else on Earth." Thanks for the nice review! More

Let me start by saying if I could give it a 3.5, I would, but I could not justify a 4... Family owned and uber popular Itlian style eatery, Orlando's I always assumed was a Mexican restaurant, until i went inside one day. Here ar ethe highlights: Staff, young but incredibly polite. Most have probably been eating there for years... More

Bryan, you are right about the booths. They were built in a time when people were smaller. As for the chairs, those are very sturdy and have wide seats, so I think you are OK there. They are stronger than they look. You are right about the carpet at Orlando's Indiana, and we will address that soon. Thanks for coming... More

Most dishes are full of carbs and limited meat, fish or poultry options. IF you are looking for a pizza, this place might be okay but not for decent Italian food.

Most of our pasta dishes are able to be served with mixed vegetables instead of the pasta part. A LOT of our customers are able to eat low carb with us. The Meat Lover's Salad is a very popular summer choice. But if pizza is all you can find that you like at our places, come in for that! More
