Wow wow wow they don’t show on the menu online , they have a whole menu just for home made pies . I mean pies not casseroles with a lid proper pies With the best gravy and mash I have eaten in a long time.... Had a mince beef and onion pie it was 10 out of 10 . Do not pass this pub and not stop I can only guess how good the Sunday lunch must be but I will soon find out . Thank you for making my taste buds do a dance . XxMore

Mainly excellent. Food (home cooked pies and a chili) was really really good and the desserts were all excellent too. Fab and friendly service. Only downer was football on the tv (or the tv at all :-( but understand why they have it.

I promised my family visiting from Essex, a proper Sunday lunch from my new local. So, after roast beef, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, swede, braised leeks, cauliflower cheese, carrots & peas - they have voted this the best Sunday Lunch! The homemade bread...& butter pudding was out of this world. The service (Izzy?) is friendly and helpful, the lady chef is great. Dogs are welcome out on the patio and there is a table at the front of the dining area that dogs are allowed too. I can’t eat here every week, I would put on too much weight. But I’d love to!More

I visit with friends once a month for lunch. The food has always been well cooked and well presented. The landlady and chef are really friendly and helpful. Good portion sizes, great range of pies and other meals.

We visited The Stags Head in Westbourne as we are new to the area and wanted to try out the ‘Local’. The pub seemed busy enough with locals drinking and a singer was on later in the evening. From a very limited menu, we chose...burgers, one veggie with side salad and one chicken. That was a big mistake as the veggie burger arrived over-cooked and dried out with oven chips and no salad. The chicken burger had fared slightly better but not exactly exciting. It wasn’t exactly cheap either and was a real disappointment.More

Visited here on Mothers day for a carvery lunch. We enjoyed it so much we returned today for another carvery lunch. When we got there there was no carvery servery, the landlady said as there were fewer customers we would have the same meal but plated...up in the kitchen.Meal arrived and the veg did not look that appetising, Cabbage undercooked, leeks a bit dry, carrots looked dry .overall very disappointing. On paying the bill I told the landlady we were very disappointed that the veg was unappetising. She asked what in particular, and said it was exactly the same as always,no one else had complained. She then said Don't come back.you will not be missed. Not the right attitude if you want custom. Personally even without the comments I would not go back if the food was free. AvoidMore

We returned to Emsworth for a two night break & a visit to this superb pub was a must for us. We received a warm greeting from Steph & excellent service from the whole team. The food was as good as ever, my Husband thoroughly...enjoyed one of their homemade pies, which he had been told by the chef she had made that morning. He gave 10/10 (which he rarely does). My chilli was exceptional. So tasty & a generous portion size. A cosy pub with a great atmosphere & a friendly team. Well worth a visit.More

The four of us felt welcome as soon as we went in. Fabulous food at reasonable prices. Wonderful range of dishes. We each chose a different pie and they were all homemade and delicious. Very fluffy mash, a great selection of vegetables and lashings of...tasty gravy. A wonderful pub, staffed by lovely people, serving exceedingly tasty food. Couldn’t ask for more. Well done and thank you.More
