As the name suggests, the Monument Inn is adjacent to the San Jacinto Battlefield and its Monument. But the Inn deserves credit in its own right. We had GREAT service and got seated quickly even though there were six of us at lunch time. Because the dining room is upstairs, you have a great view of the Ship Channel and... More
It was a pleasure having you over, John -- so glad everything from our cooking to our service and views impressed you. The team and I are looking forward to your return! - Loreny, Manager More
Good home cooked seafood and home style cooking that is a must try. Great for family gatherings. The rolls are AMAZING! Feel free to pack a few to go and save for breakfast the following days. They also have banquet space for bigger groups/dinners.
It was a pleasure having you over, Hollie -- so glad you enjoyed our cooking. The team and I are looking forward to your next visit! - Loreny, Manager More
I was in Houston for a business meeting and one person suggested that when we were finished for the day we go see the San Jacinto monument and have dinner at this restaurant. Everyone seemed to enjoy what they had and my oysters were perfect. There were 15 of us and the waiter was efficient and didn't make a single... More
It was a pleasure having you all over -- so glad the oysters, service, and value left you impressed. The team and I look forward to seeing you again next time you're in Houston! - Loreny, Manager More
Lunch crowd was growing as we arrived at 11:15 with both locals and tourists. The Shrimp Peaux Boy filled the plate including great French bread, lettuce, tomatoes and French fries. The bowl of Shrimp Scampi had plump garlicky shrimp over linguini. The sauce was a little more seafood tasting than buttery shrimp tasting. But it was good. Both dishes were... More
It was a pleasure having you over -- I'm so glad the peaux boy and scampi hit the spot. Looking forward to next time! - Loreny, Manager More
The fish and shrimp dishes are superb. The atmosphere and service are excellent. This is a great restaurant and my absolute favorite in the Houston area.
It means a lot to be your favorite -- I'm so glad you're a fan of our fish and shrimp. Till next time! - Loreny, Manager More
Gulf coast seafood here, the fried catfish was excellent. The bread (Cinnamon rolls)they bring to the table are like a desert. Salads are very fresh. All round great restaurant. They have a lot of large groups here, all kind of parties. Nice view of the gulf and the fairy if by the window. Our server was Jordan she was good.... More

This is our go to place for out of town visitors or celebrations. It's my favorite seafood restaurant ever. And the cinnamon rolls are to die for! The only thing that's ever been disappointing was the onion rings. They were frozen. Everything else is flawless and we love watching the tugs go up and down the channel.
It means a lot to be your go-to restaurant for special occasions, Tina. What better way to celebrate than with quality seafood (and cinnamon rolls)? Come for tasty eats and bay views anytime! - Loreny, Manager More
Have always like this place over the years but we took my mother in law here for her 85th birthday and was disappointed. The waitress was friendly but not very attentive during a slow time. There were 4 of us and she brought out 2 cinnamon rolls and 2 regular rolls, so we shared those. The bill was over $100... More
It's a shame your last visit didn't live up to your previous experiences with us. Especially on your mother's birthday, we're sorry to have dropped the ball with our attentiveness. We take cleanliness very seriously, so I appreciate you letting us know about the elevator. We'll work harder to make sure you're more impressed next time. - Loreny, Manager More
We found this hidden gem by accident, and boy, were we glad! The food was terrific--fried Gulf Coast seafood with to-die-for cinnamon raisin rolls that could have been a meal on their own. The view was INCREDIBLE. A front row seat to passing ships, barges and tugs. LOVED this place. The service was also great!
I'm glad you found us, too -- it's great our seafood and rolls hit the spot. Come for our cooking and views anytime! - Loreny, Manager More
