Met friends for lunch. Very large menu from breakfast, sandwiches, soups and salads. Moderate prices. Restaurant clean with knowledgeable staff. We ordered a bread pudding to share as desert. Wasn’t warm and tasted stale and sponge-y. Was sent back for possible refund but waitress said...couldn’t do that. Would not reorder this.More

When we arrived they were only serving appetizers, but the loaded fries were excellent. The staff were friendly. I enjoyed walking through the house from the movie and we were allowed to do so on our own. The only thing slightly disappointing was that I...was expecting a bit more of a gift shop. They had some items for sale in a corner of a room, but there wasn’t much to choose from.More

Come hungry because they do feed you well, huge Texas sized portions. The food was delicious. We went to the bar for some drinks while we waited. The pina colada was very refreshing. The bartender and staff were very friendly and courteous. They have a...covered patio outside by the bar, plenty of benches and seats while you wait. They welcomed us to head upstairs to look around. We will definitely be coming back.More

Took my boy here for breakfast while it was raining at our campsite. He got the French toast and I ordered the country Benedict. Both were extremely good. We didn’t realize it was the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house until later. Pretty interesting. Cute old Victorian...style house. They had railroad cars next to it that you can rent and sleep in. Definitely worth checking this place outMore

I and 2 friends went here for a nice lunch. They had a sign on the door warning of long wait times but not a sign that warned "don't eat the Reuben sandwich". It took over and hour for the food to arrive at the...table and it was very disappointing. Let's just say that the sandwich was dry, very little meat and the fries were soggy and limp. I have never written a review for a restaurant before, but I was so upset that I felt I needed to warn people not to eat the Reuben sandwich. To their credit the breakfast items that we saw served at other tables did look good. Much better than what we ordered. Everyone was checking their watches in disbelief in how long it was taking to get the food. I asked if they had a new chef and was told no. Same one they have always had. They need to take the Reuben off the menu.More

Management you need to fix your kitchen situation or what business you have built over the years was for nothing. Your reviews were awful so not headed your way now since we planned our trip months ago with a bunch of couples.

I would put zero stars if I could. Worst experience I’ve ever had, ever. My family members and I drove four hours today to see the cafe due to it previously being in the movie “Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” We were originally supposed to come with...our college school psychology group but due to Covid we couldn’t go, so my family members and I drove four hours because we already took the day off of work so why not go? Well, we got there and were greeted nicely and told we could look around the house so we did. We got there at 2, so the waitress said that it was appetizer time and lunch was over, which we were disappointed because we had waited all day just to get to the cafe to eat lunch not appetizers but we said oh well let’s just eat a little something and eat at the gas station from the Texas chainsaw massacre movie after. We asked if we could sit anywhere or how it worked, and if we could sit outside or in another area than the bar, the waitress said no that the only table she had was in the corner and we can’t sit outside because it’s windy and there’s leaves blowing. So we just sat down at the table in the corner. We then ordered water for three people and one sweet tea, the waitress said she only had unsweet so with sugar on the table we said that’s fine. We also ordered one order of mozzarella sticks, that’s when the waitress started to be rude to us due to that being the only thing we ordered. We disregarded it and waited for our drinks and food. She brought the mozzarella sticks out and they were soggy and limp so we were immediately disappointed. She asked if we were ready for the check, after never checking on us or re filling our drinks, we said yes. My sister paid the bill due to her being the one ordering the mozzarella sticks, she is also the one that got a tea. The waitress took the tea off the check, only leaving her to pay for the mozzarella sticks, apparently my sister didn’t tip her (but we honestly didn’t think she deserved it for being rude and dismissive the whole time and the food was not great.) We left, I wasn’t aware that my sister didn’t tip her. We’re leaving in our car and the waitress named “Jessica M” stepped in front of my car while it was moving so I assumed with her coming to my window after that we dropped something. She then bent down after I rolled my window down and asked what was wrong, us being confused said nothing was wrong? Was she upset for us not staying long? We were confused why she was asking that. She then said “well y’all didn’t tip me so I wanted to know what was wrong” I didn’t know my sister didn’t tip her so I told her “well I’m sorry I didn’t know she didn’t tip you, we didn’t even get much and you were rude” She then sat there looking at me confused and angry acting like she was waiting for a tip, she then said “if you’re broke you shouldn’t be going out to eat.” We were about to pay for lunch that day, so then if we had, we would’ve paid more than $6. Its about $10 or so between four people. Therefore we had money. She then talked about how she’s broke and has two kids, well if I do the 10 or 20% people usually tip, she wouldn’t have gotten a lot. Therefore, I don’t appreciate her coming out and flagging me down and getting in my face disrespectfully. I know y’all won’t care that we won’t be coming back, y’all will have other customers but keep in mind that no one will ever come back to your workplace when a psycho employee comes out and asked why she wasn’t tipped. She didn’t deserve one, her tip is don’t come out and talk crazy to customers after being rude to us in the first place.More

That is what I would have said. A good place, but for some reason a lot of staff turnover. If you go on Sunday for breakfast, expect a wait.
