We saw reviews on here that his was the place to go for pies and it wasn't disappointing. Starting to venture out and I like desserts and real american type food and this did it for me.

The Hamburger Store in Jefferson is where the locals go for a burger. I have eat at the restaurant for close to 30 years. They have good burgers and onion rings, but they are known for there pies. They are the East Texas equivalent to The Blue Bonnet Cafe in Mable Falls or Jake & Dorothy's in Stephenville. This was... More

Chicken fried steak po boy meat was soggy. 1/3 lb hamburger the meat was TINY on a HUGE bun. No way the meat was 1/3 pound. And the bottom bun was completely soggy. Two orders of Half pound curly fries and there was MAYBE 8 ounces in both orders. From the other reviews, we must have had the wrong cook.

We've been visiting Jefferson for over 20 years and always stop here to eat. It has changed hands since our last visit, but apparently has stayed within the family. The place has been remodeled, but the food is still the same. Definitely should try the Coconut Cream or Chocolate Pies.

Had a 2/3 lb. burger - the thing was huge, cooked perfectly and very tasty. Onion rings were also very good. I would definitely visit again!

Had a chili burger, piled high with fresh homemade chili and jalapeños. Delicious! Onion rings meh, but sweet potato fries were good. Cheaper than other places downtown too.

Glad we went here and wouldn't tell anyone NOT to try it....reviews seem to be mixed so, buyer beware, I guess. It wasn't BAD or anything, it's just...after one of our group asked for their burger to be cooked med and was brought a waiver to sign, it and all the other burgers came out really well done....as if someone... Visiting Jefferson for the day. I visited the Jefferson historical museum first and saw the restaurant across the street when I went in. I noticed a group of young guys going in to the restaurant as I was entering the museum. when I left museum I walked over to have lunch and noticed those guys were sitting inside still waiting...
