I have been before and can review that their food is inconsistant, and the serving ataff arrogant, and unattentive. They are more umportant than you are as they cleaned their stations in the empty room 30 minutes before close. Over seasoned and over rated, and over priced. I was so ignored by all. The manager chatting with staff a table... More

We tried Goode Co on a Sunday night and found tables available. The restaurant is very popular and Friday and Saturday nights generally require waiting for a table. Our waiter Bonnie handled our orders correctly and gave us time to enjoy or meal. Manager Josh Parks stopped by to check on us and offer a private room when we return,

As a group of 8 retirees, we arrived as planned at 1 pm, to avoid the lunch crowd. We had to wait 30 minutes with many empty tables visible because "...we did not have a reservation". Once seated we felt rushed to order - 8 full menus were handed out and only 1 lunch menu for the table. Asking our... More

My husband and I wanted a special Date Night. We both had a hankering for seafood and wanted a wide selection. Our research led us to drive from Spring to give this location of Goode Co. Seafood a try. We were favorably impressed with everything. The white tablecloth dining room was classy and inviting while not being too formal. The... More

We meet our friends at this restaurant as half way point between our home location. The service was great, the beers yummy, nice food selection. We had the seafood platter- it was good, but to much fried food on one plate. So I ordered shrimp salat with 5 grilled $18 🙄 too expensive for an average salad. Over all, good... More

Great food and waitstaff. Very welcoming the moment you arrive and if your table is not ready or if your party is not completely there, the bar is a good place to wait. The bartender was funny and accommodating since we did not know the name of the drink.

Food was very good. Waiter selling appetizers and says to one of the women "Try this app and I will add a few extra shrimp so all of the ladies can try one." Very nice, right? Wrong. He charged another $24. Then he asked another lady about changing something one her plate. He billed her an additional $6. Was very... More

We fell in love with Goode Company Seafood at least 30 years ago. Loved it all - but especially the gumbo and po boys. Moved away in 200 and try to get nack every couple of years when in town. The gumbos and po boys continue to ve five star in our opinion. Not quite Cajun but oh so good.... More

After sitting in a board room all day it was nice to go and relax with a great seafood dinner. We were seated right away, drink orders were taken quickly. The menu is very easy to read and the specials were explained. We started out with crab cakes and bacon wrapped shrimp, both were good. The crab cakes came with... More

Description
One of five children, Jim Goode was born and raised along the Texas Gulf Coast. His father was a shift worker at a nearby refinery and his mother spent her time taking care of things at home. Most weekends, you could find the whole family at the local area beaches where the kids spent their time fishing, crabbing and playing in the surf. Jim loves this way of life and he especially loves the food. So in an effort to combine his fondness for the roadside diners that dot the Texas and Louisiana coastline with his love for the region's seafood, Jim began to explore how he could translate his passions into a dining experience that would ultimately bear the family name. In 1986, he located a passenger train car that looked like it would fit the bill. He negotiated its purchase and moved it to its current location on Westpark. A few months later, Goode Company Seafood was born. The concept was to grill fresh seafood over mesquite, or fry it in refined oil with a thin batter. So, while you'll find signature dishes like campechanas, seafood gumbo and whole stuffed flounder on the menu, you won't find sauces or heavy layers of breading to mask the flavor of the fish. And if something isn't in season, you won't find it on the menu.
