I wish when people bought a restaurant they would spend time with the old owners and learn the customers. I'm talking about successful restaurants as Kams appeared to be. The elderly Asian lady used to make sure you had water, the busboys were jhonny on...the spot, you got a nice greeting going in and a very pleasant thank you leaving. Not anymore. And lose the radio station with the commercials. Bring back the nice relaxing background music. We might have to be done if its going to be a chore to endure a meal there.More

My first visit here was great, the server was extremely attentive the food was delicious I had nothing to complain about. The last few visits have made me not want to return now only because of the service but the food as well. I don't...know what is going on but this place is really letting me down and I'm not sure I will return again.More

We hope that Kams returns to the fine dining neighborhood establishment it was . We have dined there for 30 years and there is a marked decrease in service due to lack of staff. Tonite there were no bus staff for the first time in...30 years. The waitstaff was running around trying to keep up but service level was no where near fine dining. The restaurant owner appears to favor take out service. The condition of the restaurant is down with the bus station sloppy and flat ware visible. Several long time employees have left and the ones remaining appear harried at times. We hope this review will reach the owner or manager. We have seen them both but have never even received a smile much less a hello. The previous owners stopped by our table frequently over the years. Such a shame when a dollar replaces kindness and service. We hope this is a temporary hiccup and not where the restaurant is heading which is decisively downhill.More

The Hot and Sour soup was lukewarm. The Green Curry seemed to not contain any coconut milk (as advertised). The service was mediocre. Not as good as usual.

Folks there is simply no other way to say it...this was the worst Chinese food...I have ever had in life! Generic, bland, non-authentic, and not made with any passion technique. They lost me at F'd-up Won-ton soup.... How does one screw-up chicken broth? The apps...all got worse after that...and we quit before entree'. Semi-cute bar, NO busboy...so dirty glasses and plates greet you as you approach...and they have prime seating! Odd service and NO bartender! Waiters try to help themselves.... Nice enough people...but this is a culinary, and service s*#t show! To be clear...I have eaten Chinese food from every neighborhood, and every "Hood" from the wealthiest to the poorest...throughout this country, from Five Star to Food Truck! Mr.K's in DC, Mr. Chows L.A., May Palace in Vail, Sing City in the Hamptons, and every food truck on the streets of Philly, and late night Chinatown...drunk 4am in NYC Mott St...this was the worst...of the worst. There is simply no excuse for a place this big, in a nice location...to be this bad, in a major city. As we say in NYC..."Not for Nothin'", but I should have walked away...when the first 2 employees I saw were White...at the Chinese Food Joint, and one was clearly the Mgr. or Owner. Jus sayin'.... Again, very sorry, because they were nice people. Lastly, I cook extremely well and fashion myself a Chef, that can usually salvage just about anyone's food the next day, as I re-season, and re-purpose it. There was nothing to salvage here...and we left it all at the bar. Finally, there is NO good Chinese in Houston...but this is the worst!More

The wife an I visited Kam's this past Saturday for the 1st time and we had an enjoyable meal. We began with wonton soup which was very good on a cold and rainy night. We also ordered pork eggrolls which were very small, however, they...tasted very good. We decided on shrimp with bok choy in a light jalapeno sauce which we both really enjoyed. We also order some flat noodles with pork which was good, but not outstanding. All said, we paid under $50.00 for a very good meal. We will return sometime in the future.More

Kam's Wok is so good about supporting local artists. As art collectors we appreciate what Kam does for the local art community. Only thing we really wish was better at Kam's was the vegan options on the menu and served during artist open houses.

We highly recommend this fine Chinese dining restaurant. We eat there at least twice a month. Recommend the sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken , fried pork dumplings. The fine dining experience is very consistent. Friendly. Look up Chloe or Julian for some superb service.

Good service. Not totally Chinese but close to authentic. Very good menu selection. Good value and tasty food. The sauces are the most authentic aspects. We had 3 tyoes of dumplings. Beef Ho Fan which is the same as Beef Chow Fun (flat rice noodles) in...Chinatown. Pan fried fish filet (not authentic) but good. So if you are in the Museum District or Montrose and you want to eat Chinese, Kam's is a good choice.More

I first found Kam's when I lived in the area, and now drive miles for their food! I love it so much that my friends and family know what's for dinner if they stay through Sunday when visiting. Sometimes I use uber for delivery, others...I go to enjoy their dine-in happy hour specials.More

No MSG here. Tasty food, but I wish the sauces had a bit more flavor. Tofu available as protein for most dishes. Brown rice is also available. Used takeout.

While visiting a family member in MD Anderson Hospital we decided we wanted Chinese food for lunch. Several nurses on the floor at the hospital recommended Kams. What a great lunch!! Several others have mentioned the inclusion of soup and an egg roll with lunch...orders. The hot and sour soup was outstanding. We decided to pay additional and have spring rolls ( the rice paper wraps that aren't cooked). These were also good. All the items we ordered were delicious. Oh, and the beer selection was good. One of the servers came over to have a discussion with us about the local breweries and the beers they offered. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. Parking may be somewhat difficult since there isn't on street parking, but they have a lot behind the building. If I'm in the area at lunch time I will return to Kams.More

When we go to dinner on Sunday night we make it Kams'. It's always fresh and the service is unobtrusively attentive and polite. The food is consistently fresh and tasty every time we've been there.
