Terrible food. My husband had the rib eye. It was 2 small pieces of meat. It was tough and tasteless. I had the filet. It was ok. We would never go back. The menu is limited and the prices were high.

Wonderful Bistro, with excellent food and an unbelievable wine list. Good friendly service. We had not been here for years but it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. We had lovely sweetbread with root vegetables, snapper with a delicious sauce and lam chops. But also the basic green salad was beautifully prepared with a hint of chili or... More

Great little cafe, nice ambiance, good French bistro food and a superb wine menu! Not a problem to sit snd dine at the bar in case tables are taken, this works fine for easy talks with neighbors.

Terrific French menu. I have had only one supper so far and intend returning. Beef soup of depth and wonderful favors. On the edge of too salty but finally more spicy than anything; beefy. Filet with wild mushrooms, spinach, tomato and pomme frite. Beautifully cooked with a broiled garlic to add sweet flavors. Wow. Finished with delicious, delicate Lemon sorbet.... More

Menu changes and perhaps chef change have made the food much better and enjoyable. Love escargot, boudin noir and any fish.

in the Rice Village, friendly on premise owner, small and crowded the way a French bistro should be.

I must have passed by this cafe a million times and never given it a second glance. We came for lunch one afternoon, and I will definitely be back! Service was great, and the food was delicious. The menu varies daily, but if they have the Croque Monsieur is on the menu, get it! We finished with a small cheese... More

Three generations of our family ate here one evening in February. It was the closest thing to being in France without leaving Houston! All seven of us were excited about the food, the wine, and the service -- all outstanding. Cafe Rabelais is somewhat of a sleeper, as it is located in a strip mall in Rice Village. Once one... More

This restaurant tucked away in a little mall in Rice Village is one of the gems of Houston. It combines romantic charm, excellent food, exemplary service and good value in a way few Houston restaurants can match. We've never had a bad meal here; not even a mediocre one. One of the things we like is that everything on the... More

A great place with an every changing fresh menu that is listed on a big blackboard. This is true french country cooking. The place is small and cozy so sometimes you have to wait for a table. A great wine list. Just describe to your waiter the kind of wine you are looking for and they will do a great... More
