The chef does an excellent job of inventing and presenting new dishes, and I have enjoyed every visit to Sorrel. Dinner is pricier than lunch, but the quality is consistent. I have, however, encountered inconsistency in the size of the servings from one entree to...More

The menu changes frequently to incorporate fresh in-season ingredients. The food is delicious! I recommend trying the soup of the day (especially if they are serving cream of mushroom); however, be warned you might not be able to tolerate any inferior soup every again. My...More

The menu constantly offers up market fresh surprises that are tasty and often locally sourced. The scallops are constantly good ,along with their fresh salads. I am not a fan of the bread they serve , as I prefer bread with a chewy crust. That...More

The starters were great - soup and scallops for the table. The shrimp entree came out with heads, shells and tails - they tasted good, but the mess involved in cleaning them seemed out of place at a fairly upscale place. Two of us ordered...More

Wonderful lunch! Their menu changes daily. The lunch menu (on the weekend)contains both brunch items and lunch items. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and had great wine recommendations to go along. All of us had lunch items vs brunch, seared sirloin and...More

The Biscuit Bacon Casserole at Sorrel Urban Bistro is one of the best brunch dishes I've ever had, and one of the most original. Our first time here was so much better than we expected that I'm only disappointed that we'd waited so long to...More

Description
Born out of a shared vision to bring affordable farm-to-table dining to Houston, restaurateur Ray Salti and Executive Chef Soren Pedersen have collaborated to create Sorrel Urban Bistro, a casually elegant, fresh design featuring an ever-changing blackboard menu of organically focused cuisine. Sorrel represents the second culinary collaboration between Salti and Pedersen, who also are partners at Ray’s Grill, a highly-lauded farm-to-table concept in Fulshear, TX, 20 miles West of Houston. In addition to a diverse daily menu selection featuring local organically grown produce and meat, sustainable fish and wild game, Sorrel offers a charcuterie bar with a wide variety of salami, sausages and prosciutto, both imported and housemade, along with artisan Texas cheeses, handcrafted breads and more. Beverage service includes seasonally inspired cocktails, artisanal beers and 200 plus wines (25 percent organic.) At Sorrel, it's about enjoying a culinary experience.
