Get the flaming queso. It's absurdly good. The enchiladas are also amazing, the margaritas are well-made and our service was fantastic! Highly recommend.

Two crispy tacos, one with ground beef - too salty, and one with chicken. The Spanish rice was okay, nothing special. The refried beans were okay, nothing special.

I've lived in Texas for over ten years, and I've had my share of the good, bad and (coughing) ugly Tex-Mex. Was introduced to this gem by a good friend, and I'm impressed! Good house Margaritas, and their salsa was the tastiest I've ever had, with hints of smokey news that I truly enjoyed. Had a salad with shrimp, avocado... More

I've always wanted to try it, so I was excited when a friend asked me to meet her here. The service was good, the drinks were good, but the food was average. It's nothing bad, but not overly special. We had the botanas appetizer plate and I had cheese enchiladas. Like I said, nothing bad, but no wow either.

First stop after arriving. Food was delicious. Our server Browen was fantastic! Worth trying when in Houston next.

Two of us went here after an afternoon at the Museum of Fine Arts. Had seen the marquee on Westheimer several times, then my niece recommended it to us. Started with some pretty good salsa & chips, then some Queso Verde- white cheese with spinach. Very good, served with thicker corn tostadas that went well with the dense dip. One... More

My friends and I stopped here after having a couples of drinks at a nearby bar. I really enjoyed the eclectic atmosphere, and the dish I had was average, but my friend had a hamburger off the menu and said it was one of the best she had ever had.

Our regular quarterly visit to Houston's MD Anderson includes a night out to eat at a restaurant we've never tried. Heard about El Real through a "Houston" Unique Eats. Quick & easy drive. Oh my goodness! Yummy! The white queso with spinach... and you get bigger, thicker chips to help you shovel it down. It's great with everything. My chicken... More

We were underwhelmed when they first opened. Happy they renovated the old theatre, but not enthralled with the food. They have now settled into the role of community center as well as eatery, a comfortable place for comfortable Tex-Mex of the non-greasy kind. My crispy tacos were very good, although not really a fair judge. My friend had a mixed... More
