Very good Colombian cafe not far from Addison and with plenty of safe free parking in front. We phoned in a takeout order and everything was delivered promptly and correctly. Friendly service and good eats. The bunuelos come out in the morning only.

Best Colombian food and bakery. My family and I travel 30 miles just to eat here. Reasonable prices too.

Have been visiting this restaurant for many years. It is bigger now than the last time I visited. Great service, good Colombian music and good food. Good variety of entrees and smaller items like arepas and empanadas. Their bandeja paisa is pretty good and enough...food and variety for two. Their Milton’s dessert ( one thousand layers) is excellent. Prices are reasonable for the type of food and portions.More

I entered this establishment on a whim since it was convenient to the Addison airport. I’m very pleased that I did. The yuca cheese bread is fantastic. The beans are very flavorful. Overall everything was good, an the prices are also fair. The staff was...kind an entertaining also. Highly recommendedMore

If you are a fan of Colombian food or just considering trying something new, this is the place to come. Great variety, great taste, and great service. I strongly recommend Bandeja paisa, but if you try something different you wont be disappointed. From main dishes...to bakery items and other sweets, you will always find something you will like. Don’t forget to try the coffee. Very family friendly. The manager even waived us good bye when we left.More

Nice place, good prices, and very good food. The only thing that i will change is the bread for the hot dogs. The one they use is very good but is not for hot dogs it takes away from the colombian hot dog experience.

This is the second Colombian restaurant I've visited and I loved it. You don't feel like you're in a restaurant, you feel like you're eating with friends or family. Their bakery is something you have to try, same with the Bandeja Paisa.

We went due to other reviews. Like some others, we have eaten next door at Mena's for years and never notice this place. The food was good and plentiful. The owners were very helpful with the unfamiliar menu. We were not big fans of the...cheese rolls others have raved about. We will definitely return.More

Even though I might recommend it as "authentic" Colombian, I have had a few bad meals in Colombia as well. It is a mom & pop place located in the strip center by the fitness gym. Small but sufficient. Very friendly people in the restaurant...but the food service is slow. The meats were left in the fryer too long and the rice was bland- not usual for Colombia. And the patacones! I have never had patacones so poorly prepared in my life; very disappointing considering how easy they are to make correctly.More

My family enjoys the bandeja paisa!! On Sunday we especially like the brunch styled menu calentaos. The place is small & full of energy! The owners are "hands-on" hard working as well as personable. We are always greeted and made to feel welcome. The menu...is great. I wish there was another location closer to home. Also, the fresh baked breads are most delicious--pan se yuca, de bono, Buñuelos, bocadillo, Arequipe, etc.More

After lunch at Mena’s we strolled down to the Colombian bakery El Portal, which was only 50 feet away in the same strip mall. Neither of us had been there before. Om: Very mixed feelings about this place! It was clean, the guy that helped...us was nice, and the food looked great. We tried a variety of baked goods, no full meals since we just ate. One of the items, a small powdered caramel cookie, was OUTSTANDING. I could eat 30 of these, no kidding. Some of the pastries were ok – the one with caramel filling was tasty, the one with caramel and guava was still alright. I guess I don’t care for guava all that much. On the opposite end of the spectrum, we tried two different kinds of rolls baked with cheese. I didn’t care for either, just wasn’t for me. I think it was made with some kind of cheese that I just don’t care for. So, they had one item that I loved, one that I liked, one that was just “ok”, and two that I disliked. All that said, you can tell the quality was there in all the items. I would like to go back and try their entrée’s to get a better feel on their food. If you like Colombian food I really think that you would LOVE this place – it’s authentic and of high quality. So far it’s just not for me. Nom: Talk about something out of the ordinary! It was a stretch for me just because the place has tinted windows so you can’t see in. So if you’ve never tried Columbian food it’s a total and literal blind buy. It’s a very small store front but clean and it had a few people having lunch. It smelled great but since he had just had lunch we sampled from their bakery. They had these tiny sugar cooked with caramel in the middle that were out of this world! We also tried a puff pastry filled with caramel that was very good. The pastry with guava and cheese…well I can appreciate it but it’s not something I would purchase to have on hand to eat. I thought I would love the bread but they use some sort of cheese that I just can’t get past the smell. So those will be a pass for me in the future. If you want to try Columbian food or you enjoy Columbian food you will love this place. I’m glad we tried it and I’ll stop by and get my handsome love some more cookies but otherwise it’s really not my thingMore

Let me start this review by saying INCREDIBLE we eat here regularly with friends and family and the service is slow at times but this place is always visited by friendly people I made some good friends there over time while waiting they have two...Tv's I guess the owner Gerardo is a soccer fan because that's all you'll see showing on tv so if you don't mind the wait you will be rewarded with some of the most delicious Colombian food ever ...! Everything is made from scratch according to owner Gerardo I tried keeping this place a secret for a long time but the food is so good that they began building a reputation for them selfs for been one of the most popular Colombian restaurants in the Carrollton area that it was impossible to keep a secret anymore this is a must try place you won't be disappointed . And when you done feasting your self on that bandeja paisa you must I repeat MUST try their sweet bread especially my favorite Mil-Ojas ...More

The place is more of a casual bakery/cafe where you can relax, hang out, and order snacks or simple food. Coffee is just so-so; I suggest you bring your own. However, I found their almojabanas (cheese bread), guava & cheese bread, bistec a caballo, pollo...ala plancha to be good. Enjoy!More

A true gem of authentic Colombian cuisine. Tucked in a strip mall of stores, take an extra minute to find this place! A truly varied menu covering all the bases of any discerning palate. You will find all entrees to be freshly prepared and professionally...served. It that is not enough, make sure to pick up some freshly prepared Colombian bread or pastry before leaving. This restaurant also has a full in-house bakery!More
